Better than most boss fights in Warframe? Yes.
Cinematic? Heck yeah.
A reference point for future bosses? Hopefully.
The problem is that when it comes to these bosses, it's hard to balance. The Ropalolyst is cool that the damage output doesn't mean much because it's a puzzle, but the issue is that once you know what the solution is then it's a cake walk.
Personally I think that going in the direction of the plains Eidolons would be cool. Personally the shield damage mechanic is a big part of what makes that cool. The biggest issue with that is that some people struggle and others will one shot after the shields go down.
It would be nice if the next major boss that comes up disabled the mods on frames and weapons during the fight, would actually be able to make a balanced boss fight at that point.
Its a featherless chicken using space-magic.
But everything else is fine/great/entertaining.
Similar thing with Exploiter Orb where you don't need high DPS to beat her and at the same time high DPS won't make her piss-easy, since it's all about overheating her.
I hope DE keeps making more bosses like these 2.
Indeed! I felt the same way fighting it. Thankfully happy because it required skill and reflex to not be killed. (Even though i got killed lol)
Hopefully, DE will keep sending us enemies and boss fights with this mentality; skill based gameplay, rather than one OP weapon cleaning the whole map. Very fun. =)
It does slowly push you back though.
It is so awesome that you get that cutscene on every start of the mission! After 20 of kills it still satisfy me to see this completly cool Lotus scene on start.
The even more nice thing about rapololsyt is, t hat you have to walk through a 1.5km long parcour with bad map showing to get to him.
Yes! This boss is defenetly the best!
