Launcher Download Speed

Wanted ti play the game after months but dear god does this game have the worst launcher I've ever used, the download speeds are dial up level and I have 200mb/s internet. Is there anyway to make this go faster? It's absurd how slow the update speeds are.

The launcher really is garbage in every way. You can’t increase their seed speed. There is no option to limit the speed either, sometimes if updates aren’t done in one attempt, they will not save progress and restart from the start. Not to mention it has no bandwidth distribution software, if you have bad internet it will just suck it dry and you won’t be able to launch a google tab while patching, where as other launchers detect maximum bandwidth and download slightly under that, so that low priority network tasks still function.

I hope they upgrade their launcher soon.

Weird I don’t have a problem with slow download speed, why are you replying to me not OP? Also this article doesn’t fix the other glaring problems I mentioned.

A heads up this article hadnt made a difference in dl speed for either of my machines or my friends.

But i do know it has helped others.

As said thought the launcher has other issues as well.

So went to to options and clicked optimize and now the speed is up to 1 mb/s. Much better but they seriously need to improve this launcher. Such low speeds is just absurd

Multiple reasons, optimizing cache is the first - easiest example is when you get a package it arrives in a box. Optimizing the cache is the launcher getting rid of those boxes (among other things it doesn't need anymore).
The speed is capped, it helps with tens of thousands updating the game at the same time, especially on big updates (like fortuna or the upcoming Empyrean). Sure it takes a little bit longer, but it's much better than it was a few years ago (other games included).

For someone landing here i can offer the following advice from other threads:


I disabled Bulk Download, Multi-Threaded Rendering and Launcher GPU Acceleration and went from 100KB/s to 10MB/s instantly.

For me personally the Launcher GPU acceleration cleared a bit.


From someone else:
I disabled all non-Windows Services (Win+R -> msconfig, tab services ->mark "hide all windows services" -> disable all -> reboot) and reactivated them in for me logical groups.

IT WAS THE FRAGGING BACKUP SOFTWARE'S SERVICES!!! Acronis True Image Home is the faulty one. I have everything up and only arcnis' services disabled. Full DL available.

Don't forget to re enable all the services you find important after the DL is complete.

I disable Adobe Update service and it shot up to 14MB/s with me (I came from 1MB/s)

Also CHECK your disk usage of the warframe launcher, it is very possible that is actually preparing the space and not downloading as much yet. For me it was using 18MB/S when it was downloading 1MB/s which leads me to believe it is doing some other things in the background before committing to full download duty. Steam uses a clear indicator for this (download speed vs disk usage) The Warframe launcher doesn't, but could use the upgrade for showing the disk usage.
