There's "Meta" weapons but you can make whatever you want viable so just go with what you enjoy using

Since rivens you hardly require top tier weapons and can make anything viable for 99.9% of content anyways.

It all comes down to personal preference and what flavour you want your melee experience to be, the rest is just modding accordingly.

I think your information is dated from before MR limit was raised to 12. Orthos Prime used to be an awesome weapon for getting started when it was available at MR2. In that sense it was the best melee in the game for completing star chart and quest line.

site with equipment builds. So far Tenet Exec looks like the most powerul weapon. But after getting radiation tenet arca plasmor I've stopped using other weapons. One-shotting a whole room of L130 Steel Path mobs is way too convenient compared to melee.
