Defy is good for weak non-surviving frame on solo steel path
I use it on Vauban
The only one I have used so far was the instant replenish shield and put it on Hildryn for using during the event to create energy drops for the team.
It beats Roar by a hefty margin in terms of reducing time to kill an enemy and it even has a protection bonus on top. As well as status cleanup, it wipes any status on you warframe.
Breach Surge is nice CC and an easy way to get those stupid big numbers of damage, but it's unreliable and I struggle to justify it.
Depends on a frame really, I see abilities from Helminth the same way I see mod slots. You can ditch Vitality and use Elemental Ward instead. Or ditch Transient Fortitude if you dislike penalty to duration and use Empower.
You can ditch some efficiency or rage and use dispensary. Using Equilibrium with dispensary gives you like 500 energy in couple of seconds, amazing for frames that channel.
But your topics of "what's best for X" are real silly, you should try to learn and get ideas of your own how to make things work, cause in 3 months or so new things will come out and devalue your knowledge on the topic. Cause power creep design is good, right?
Anyway, get out, get your self some gear and experiment with it.
Nezha is my favorite warframe, yet I changed his build 3 times so far and in a sort of major way. Cause I got an idea that something may work and I went with it, after a while I saw a downfall of that and figured I can do it the other way around, reduce a drawback and make him stronger overall.
I did not ask anyone, I tuned the build to my liking and in my hands Nezha is a beast that can deal with anything.
Can you do that with my build? You can't, not because you are a worse player than I am, but because you did not tune him the way you felt his dynamics should work.
Overframe can give you some ideas but take them with a grain of salt as a lot of builds there have a lot of diminishing returns as well as even wasted slots for mods that are considered "good" but don't apply to that scenario. And if you listen to us you will end up like that, applying things that are "good" but not in a good place.
You only learn how to build by playing with your poor builds and improving them.
Copy/paste does not really get you anywhere, sure, for idiot proof spam 4 builds it's wahtever, but for actual building it does not work cause you need to learn to play with it.
Like AGGP being a pro at showing the regular Kronen with 5% CC by applying Blood Rush on that build. (at the time regular kronen had 5% cc, but even now with 10% if you use Blood Rush you should really stop what you are doing, take a deep breath and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reconsider what in the ever living ♥♥♥♥ are you doing with your life).
You can manufacture more obvious differences by spawning an heavy enemy in simulacrum, taking out +damage mods from your builds and shuffling other mods and checking time-to-kill and seeing how it compares. Damage mods just add extra on top, but checking how other things relate without it produces more obvious outcome to see what's a maximum.
considering pillage does exactly that I really struggle to see point of using it on Hildryn.
Pillage can be instant with double click, as well as you do not need to wait for it to come back, click 2, click 4 and when pillage returns it refills you.
Sure, it's your choice, it just see it as a bit of a pointless infuse because of how Hildryn works.
As you stated it comes down to how you play and this works for me. Not trying to say it is meta or everyone should do it in any situation.
look it up
Pillage is debuff mostly, at least I find that effect stronger.
Arcane Guardian is just a better defy and I would rather trade an arcane slot for it and use an ability to compensate for whatever other arcane you wanted.
It's just worse, 750 armor is not worth the effort.
Mirage buff of let's say 500% is NEVER a 500%, it's dynamic and changes depending on the light and even tho game calculates that on per frame basis DE does not think UI should reflect that.
500% is only if you are balls deep up the Sun's Uranus.
In reality it seems like what you get on average is waaaaaay below of what UI tells you.
Still, not a bad ability, just not as good one as people preach about it.
Also apart from couple of missions like PT, Eidolons, I am not sure what buffs are good for. Like when I play my Oberon I'll sure as ♥♥♥♥ spam the Smite Infusion but all it does is give me bigger numbers on top of enemies who already die out of one shot.
