Well, Quassus, despite it being a formidable weapon, is not mentioned anywhere for the same reason that the Opticor is not mentioned. And the haemorrhage kuva chakkhurr. And other stuff. Single target weapons just slow you down in steel path survival missions (especially in a solo one). All you need there is coverage. This is why that (kinda stupid) "vet" uses only aoe weapons. Kronen and Glaive for the steel path. The other aoe weapons for speed running through fissure missions and what not. Time is money. And the higher kills per minute in a survival the longer you will be able to stay in it.
He has a neat selection of melee maybe, but ultimatively: nope.
As much as i like the glaive prime (its my most used for a reason), other glaives outperform it today in about every aspect, depending on what you are looking for. In most cases the Xoris still does by far- unless used as a statstick. But then again, you shouldnt use a glaive for that.
Kronen is neat for its heavy hit movement combo, but especially thanks to its riven disposition it is again outperformed.
So if he really wants to be "uber gud!"- tell him to get gud. And use his brains over usually outdated videos that where created by often "not so bright" youtubers in the first place. That said whoever talks about "meta" and doesnt waste a word on explanation proves...they didnt ever get gud.
Additionally what most people call "meta" is not actually the "most efficient tactic available", but usually the "easiest for even the biggest dumbass to understand" and of course "easy to build even without some rather rate mods and configs let alone tons of forma", and as such only valid in certain situations like eidolon hunts in a random group- so you have something that "just works" and everyone knows. People even gave me "the looks" first when i brought Wisp to a hunt...
If he really wants to melt down heavies with a full mag from his Acceltra in Steelpath- invite him over to a match where you just one shot them with your chakkur. Its also one of the better choices for "clone" weapons (Equinox, Wukong)
E.g. Equinox clone two-shots Steel Path Acolytes and Capture targets *wink*
I cant think of a situation where Shedu would be better than Bubonico. But i love em both ;)
If you like shotguns throw a Cedo into the mix. With Multishot/projectile speed riven, just for fun.
Kohm is also neat, certainly more so than noob-bramma, but falls short in longer tougher missions. That...was my first hiccup when i saw that post. Using Bramma usually is like putting "Newb on tour" as your glyph.
Source: I know a pre-steam veteran, survivor of the tenno civil war, former raid mentor and today theory (build) -crafter. MR 30 of course, but obviously MR does hold little meaning these days...
Edit because post in between ;)
Im all in for time is money. But thats where the chakkur comes in. Most kills are with warframe skills, followed by glaive (usually not glaive prime but depending on mission...Xoris, pathocyst, orvius...) followed by that group of three in a distance half across the map being one shot by chakkur. Besides it also does a decent job with SP demo units and acolytes...
This is PvE game, no need meta or something serious. Enjoy whatever you want. This is not some Moba game while you need pick/ban something because following meta.
These days, with all the changes, weapons can be more powerful than ever, so "best" in Warframe is totally subjective.
And the result? I play just fine with my friends. We've crushed Eidolons, destroyed Isolation Vaults, and are sweeping our way through Steel Path just fine. Nothing has ever been beyond us. It's only when I'm on teams with pushy, selfish, immature bullies who have no clue how to be part of a team that problems arise, but that's easily solved by never going with randos.
IMO, getting good is getting comfortable with the game, but being willing to experiment and really learn its ins and outs to figure out how to make it work for you. Find what plays well with your style and develop your skill with them while still remaining open minded and flexible enough to keep learning and adapting as the game evolves, because the meta always changes.
"Git gud" is just a lazy method of bullying others to feel big over a trivial subject. It's a worthless meme phrase.
No honestly, a fitting summary.
Its not. Its just funny how its most often used by those that still have to! And most commonly found in random groups ya...
Today's meta is potentially future trash, just remember that.
