A quick question about Galvanized Shot,Aptitude and Savvy
Like Condition Overload replace Primed Pressure Point on a lot of builds those 3 mods are supposed to replace damage mods on their respective weapons.

But different than those 3 mods Condition overload didn't have the condition to kill the enemy in order to build up damage, the galvanizeds on other hand, you need to actually kill the enemy to gain the bonus and start to build up your weapon damage, before that they only provide status chance.

In case you lost the bonus and are fighting some tough enemies, would not be a trouble situation to kill an enemy to gain the bonus without any source of pure damage?

So you remove the core damage mod? If its melee, its fair. If its a guns i called that suicide mission especially if you fight boss.

I won't remove core damage for everything i use. Except it's melee and it has no slot for PP . Like I use pressure point/primed + condition overload IN CASE I'm not lucky enuff to trigger condition overload ASAP. Also i still use point blank/primed + savvy. Not only the savvy.

I don't care about people saying its a waste or whatever, but i want stable initial damage. Remember ,play the way you like. Meta slave is just ruined your experience.

Not necessarily. Every faction has squishy units that can be easily killed even without being modded for pure damage, it'd be different if every faction was just made up of Heavy Gunners but that's not really how it plays out in an actual mission. Depending on the frame you're playing, you may also be able to soften them up with your abilities, or use melee to do some initial damage and then finish them with your gun. It's never been a problem for me.

But if you want to stick with keeping Serration on that is perfectly viable too, it's just not the "optimal" way to play.

To be honest i didn't used a galvanized mod yet xD
i started to dig a bit into them just now, and while testing and learning about them on simulacro i came across that ''flaw'' and was wondering about.
I agree with you, have a initial damage would've been better in a lot of cases, and dont worry about meta slave, i'm a long time ''casual veteran'' xD

Understood , to be honest i didn't test those galvanized mods on a real mission and was just testing around on simulacro, so i not sure if that ''flaw'' would've been a big issue on an actual mission.

Yeah, going into the simulacrum and spawning only level 150+ heavy gunners doesn't really give you a good idea how it'll actually perform in a real mission. Even on Steel Path there are always weak enemies regardless of what faction you're fighting. Grineer have units like Scorpions and Butchers which are easy to one shot, Corpus have the generic crewman and moas, Infested have the chargers and runners, and Corrupted have the squishy units copy-pasted from other factions. Those are the enemies you want to be shooting to get your boost on your Galvanised mods, as well as your primary and secondary arcanes if you are using those.

Yes sergeant. If i find someone bragging about meta i just block them right away. Its versus bot game why bother meta right? I mean you can mod MK-bo into SP melee anyway lmao

Brozime did a good break down on how they work, one thing you should know is the bonus stacks up and depletes 1 stack at a time, you dont lose all the bonus the moment you fail to kill in the time window. This means even on longer kills you dont have to stress over it all going away, and 1 stack plus the base usually goes above the mod it replaces.

Also not all dmg bonuses stack the same, a enemy bane mod is actually good now, or a good riven that does other useful things while having a strong bane is pretty solid now days.

Oh and you only ever use CO on melee now if you are using a stance that grants auto status in the attack chain, or a frame that auto applies status with powers like saryn. Otherwise you just want to focus on things like crit and multi and raw damage or heavy attack eff and use the dexterity arcanes for duration now etc.

That about meele is new for me, so it's like, if you want to focus on meele you choose dexterity and if you want to focus on primary/secundary you pick merciless?
