n00b question is the chroma prime just a skin?

I started the game recently so like is the chroma prime a warframe or just a skin for looking good? I was planning on buying it since it looks op but idek what it does or anything lmao

Chroma and Chroma Prime are considered different for Mastery purposes. They have the same abilities and work the same beside so minor changes.

Chroma Prime, compared to Chroma:

Higher Armor (425 vs. 350)
Higher Energy (200/300 vs. 150/225)
Different Polarities (Naramon PolVazarin PolMadurai PolNaramon Pol vs. Naramon PolMadurai Pol)
Higher Mastery Rank required (6 vs. 0)

[Watermelons]

Primes have different, fancier skins than their standard counterparts, but also often include slightly better stats, though which stats are improved vary on each Warframe. Some get more health, shield, armor, energy, or sprint speed. Some get several improved stats. Most also get small visual changes to some or all of their abilities. Most importantly though, they get different/more mod polarities in their Upgrade screen, letting you possibly fit more mods on them from the get go. Also, in Void missions, Death Orb traps can trigger a 250 energy pulse once if a Prime Warframe walks near them
