Elemental ward subsumed ability

So ive been playing more chroma lately and i absolutely love him because of the amount of damage he can get on. I found that his first ability can be subsumed and i wonder.. can u switch between all of the elements and activate its buff? Such as heat - more hp, heat damage per second etc etc or how does it exactly work? is it nearly as effective as it is on Chroma?

I believe the element is determined by your Warframe's Emissive/Energy color.

I heard it does, but how exactly? Pick orange = heat, pick white = cold etc? Will have to farm simaris for chroma parts so im just asking if it can be used just as if u were normal chroma.

I've not tested, but from how people talk about abilities... the code of the ability seems to be rereferenced.

Abilities will work exactly the same, albeit with tweaked metrics.

Yeah, Red, orange, yellow is fire, blue and purple is electric, green is toxin and white and most black is cold.

Therefore you really wont activate anything. id like to get those sweet stats like electricity bonuses that gives you huge damage multiplier etc, or bonus health while choosing heat or huge armor from cold.

You can go to the helminth and see all the abilities you can subsume. Just look for it in there, it will tell you what it does.

Chroma can change elements that his abilities using DURING the mission. Other warframes can't do that. You have to choose the element through Emission color and stick with it until the mission is finished.

Chroma can change elements that his abilities using DURING the mission. Other warframes can't do that. You have to choose the element through Emission color and stick with it until the mission is finished.

as others said you set the element... there's even a little icon to show wich element it is..
it is very straight forward but yeah.. there're some green hues wich look to me like blue... but they aren't so whatever.....
in terms of the usefull ness..
we can all pretty much agree on the fact that the toxin form is pretty much useless.. or mostly unused
since smaller shield values are generally better than bgger shield values .. you won't see much use of the lightning form either.. there's this wonky hildryn build wich uses it.. bugt that's pretty much it.
for cold and heat.. it kinda depends on the frame and arcanes you use in your setup.. but 99% of the time one of the elements is just better than the other one
for example on a frost you kind of wanna give him cold to buff is snow globe... but in some cases where you wann turn himself in a damage sponge you might want to use heat..
or as inaros.. heat is always better

so yeah you loose the "versatility" but you don't need it tbh......

FOR THE LAST TIME, IT IS THROUGH EMISSIVE/ENERGY COLOR.

Subsuming Elemental Ward is relatively cheap, so try it instead of asking several times.

elemental ward with Helminth is not as good as it might seem. You get a very small buff and a small AoE radius with a small amount of status proc. I tried it on several frames and there are better Helminth options than elemental ward. If the status proc was greater chance, it would be more interesting. Chroma is a weird frame btw: he seems very strong but can be quite squishy and his 4 is terrible.

It does bring it in line with other cycled abilities, so at least the change is more consistent
