Free Epic stuff... any way to get it without downloading the whole game over?

So they just showed off that Warframe, when played on EGS, will unlock some Unreal Tournament stuff. So, does anyone know how to get the EGS install to recognize the Steam install so I don't have to re-download the whole game? Some of us have bandwidth caps, y'know!

Well I just copied it over and hit verify. Now started the game and he starts downloading it again from scratch. 16,9GB to go.

That sucks. Too bad spoiled, rotten city brats who have always had high speed internet don't know what it's like for a lot of people in more rural communities. They think we can just buy a better plan or switch ISPs when that's often not the case, as we're stuck with infrastructure that rarely gets upgraded and terrible monopolies.


All it takes is for the copy to bug out and not work right, then we're stuck downloading 25GB+

This whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ordeal could of been avoided if we didn't have exclusivity!

So just to be sure i get that right : you can log into the EGS-version of the game with the same account you use to play on steam to get the cosmetics and then keep playing on steam with the cosmetics ?

yes, both Steam and EGS ONLY download the launcher, that is all the data Epic and Valve have. DE has their own servers for PC. You just need to start the launcher from EGS to get the items added to your DE account. After that you can never use EGS again, until they add more skins and an exclusive Warframe that is. :)

Actually Steam downloads about 25 GB, then the launcher downloads updates when you're on a fresh install. That's actually better since you can pause the download and resume it if say your internet dies... unlike the EGS version where the download starts completely fking over.

EGS is ♥♥♥♥, and will likely always be ♥♥♥♥. Steam has far more advanced features and is much more consumer friendly.
