I think I've found more thaumica via vault runs and those red blister things than I have through mining and I've spent dozen multi-hour sessions exclusively mining.

theres a huge cave under the catabolic gutter with a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of ore, clear out that place and hope for the best
thaumica drops from orange ores
necrathene drops from both, more commonly blue ores i believe

I got well over a hundred Thaumica from a mining expedition, while my friend that was mining with me got around twenty, so certainly some RNG to it. You can try other methods though, like looking up how the obelisk symbols work and farming those.

Important thing to note on Obelisk farm is that if you get either of the ones that spawn drones or do the energy slashes, just go find the next one as the drones won't be able to get a single kill and slashes do literally no damage.

Avoid every obelisk that rely on NPC to work (Nethra,Fass), rest is fine.

took a few runs, but got the stuff from one of the Obelisks.
diddt realize the different symbols had different effects, thanks for the info.

got the gems off one that fired whiplike beams thats slowed the mobs and made them easy targets even with the starter amp.

speaking of been trying to figure out what combo of parts to use.

I want something that fires the same way :single target hold-fire beam - but with mcuh more ammo, as the darn thing keeps running out (did they change it?)

it is hard to recommend an amp, they are all REALLY good. i like the fortuna primaries, they feel strong and efficient, and the quills secondary effects have those neat seeking shurikens.

all of the amps will have more damage and be more ammo-efficient than the starter amp by default.

"Just do Obelisks"? Man, Requiem Obelisks are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BROKEN... And not in a good way.

DE must've broken them in the newer patches, because they no longer summon enemies AT ALL. The only enemies you get are those that first pop up around them when you arrive.

Killing infested with necramech also counts for resource generation.

Which makes getting rare Deimos resources kinda trivial once you do have a necramech. That said once you do have one you don't really need as many of those resources anyway..
