There's barely any use for cryotic in the entire game and it's not even a good weapon so who cares. If you play a few months and you'll end up with 30k cryotic without even farming it.

I've played for years and wouldn't be too surprised if my lifetime earnings of cryotic have barely passed 30k. It only really tends to add up much if excavations are your choice of farming anyhow.

Of course, that's exactly why the weapon exists: excavation missions were better for farming pretty much everything than every other mission was for a long time, and so people ran them constantly. so DE put in a weapon with an exorbitant resource cryotic cost so that there was SOMETHING to sink it into.

Eh, you do use a fair bit when you're starting out.

That said the sibear should only be built if you're in dire need of mastery fodder, as freezing your own feacal matter and then nailing it to a stick would actually be a better weapon than the sibear.

I'm pretty sure I've amassed over 30k cryotic from sortie excavations alone.

Ferrox is not a beam weapon and it's also very well balanced. Weapons like Ignis, Glaxion and Atomos are beam weapons. Beam weapons have continuous fire and their status chance is calculated per second.

Weapon has special ability, charged attack has flat +50% status chance that seems to be applied before mods kick in, so you put 2 double stat mods and your status is pretty reliable.
Adding toxin damage makes it a Viral weapon, with near 100% status, you charge, ragdol and status, then you use your crit potential that's fairly decent to put in Blood Rush and maybe some Gladiator mod to enchance it.
Charged attack also adds that flat status bonus to next 4s, but once you apply viral you cannot really stack it as you can with corrosive, still useful against crowds.

Weapon is not the strongest hammer but it is damn fun, has riven disposition of 5 making is silly with rivens, I was lucky to get unrolled riven with like +270% damage and +150% status duration which works amazing with viral setup as viral proc is only 6 sec by default, this way it is 15 so very strong targets are not an issue

I cannot argue that building it is a sink, but weapon is very fun to use, launching Nox with charged attack is just pure satisfaction. Only reason I was determined to farm that weapon is because I got the Riven, but it was worth it
