Warframe
Any Mass Effect fans here? Similarities between Warframe and Mass Effect.
Heya, just some random thoughts. Have you ever thought about this? Not everyone will understand but those who played the ME trilogy will get what I mean.

Orokin = Prothean
Sentients = Reapers
Corpus = Salarian
Grineer = Krogan
Kubrows = Varren
Infested = Corrupted (ME3)
Solar Rails = Relays
Navigation system on the orbiter = Galactic Map on the Normandy
Simulacrum = Pinnacle Station (ME1)
Stalker = Saren

What do you think?

If we really want to go down the comparison route:

Grineer = Orcs - A brutish group that only causes destruction to the other factions. They are tough, large and crude, rather like their weaponry. Fairly primitive compared to the other factions, but more than makes up for it with their aggression.

Corpus = Dwarves - Greedy, egotistical and prone to ostentation. They only think of wealth and tend to covet that which will ultimately destroy them. Relatively advanced compared to the other factions, but still inferior to the orokin (elves)

Infested = Undead, the 'mindless' faction of the dead. Made up of the remnants of other factions. This is the most dangerous faction in the long run, due to it's potential to overwhelm the other factions. Their main strategy is to simply overwhelm their opponents with hordes of simple minded units

Orokin = Elves - Arrogant, prideful, intelligent and callous. This faction saw itself as superior to all others and, unfortunately, had the power to back it up. Their power has massively declined now and they are a shadow of what they once were.

Tenno = Wizards - Mysterious figures who control unknowable power from another realm and use it to devastating effect.

I mean you can find things from each faction that will match a lot of other games factions if you really look hard.

I'd say the Corpus are like Cerburus tbh. But they don't have Phantom's on their side like Cerburus do so less points in cool factor (and those 1 hit kills yo)
I mean these are more like standard scifi tropes. Watch.

halo=mass effect
Forerunners = collectors
flood = reapers
halos = mass relays
Not even close.
It's more of a general rip-off of sci-fi tropes in general.

Orokin are the pre-fall empire you could see in Foundation by Asimov
Sentients are any general big bad such as Skynet in Terminator
Infested are... zombies in function. If you wanna get advanced the Flood from Halo is a close fit.
Corpus are any generalized space cult. Look no further than the Merchant barons from Foundation
Tenno feel most inspired by Ender from Ender's Game. The warframes are basically just power armor from Starship Troopers (High mobility, insane power, horde killers).

overall WF isn't a creative game lore wise.

And yet we love all of them. (well I've never played starcraft but I do like me some Halo and ME).

exactly. Except I don;t like starcraft. Excution and story and characters is more important than just having original concept

that might be more true than you think if the warframes themselves do have sapience
