That and it introduced NEW meta for those focused on that sort of thing, aka Eidolon Metaframing and Orb Hunting.
Ultimately, to me both served as distraction from core gameplay of running tiles constantly. It's a nice change of pace, but barely anything more than that.
But I still think this game is by far at its best when you're on regular tileset missions. And nothing I saw in the gameplay demo particularly won me over as this being any more fun than those. I admit I was excited with PoE was announced and even Fortuna I had high hopes for but I got immediately burnt out on the grinding.
The open worlds suit my preference to wander around doing whatever catches my eye and not worrying about my progress along a linear path. They're more sandboxy than the regular missions.
I honestly can't think of anything in Warframe I hate doing more than mining ore and fishing for hours in PoE or doing any of the numerous boring fetch quests for rep.
