Do people actually LIKE the open world stuff?
Sorry I'm not trying to ♥♥♥♥ on anyone's taste. But I am SHOCKED they're going with another one.

I liked this game way more when it was about killing enemies in linear tileset maps farming for resources. Not when it was about running across a big ♥♥♥ empty map for hours collecting rocks to get better tools to collect more rocks.

To me the open world stuff always got in the way of the stuff I actually liked. The power fantasy combat.

I take it from the positive response this is a very unpopular opinion. Do people just like the open world stuff because it's 'chill' or something?

Insulting people over liking/disliking content in a game is pretty cringe btw

Open World allows for a lot to do outside of "farm, sell, farm, sell, farm, sell" and many, many, MANY wanted something to do other than that. Fishing, hunting, K-Drive, Archwing, random mission, new factions, etc. It was something new to do outside of what became "the meta" and that was why majority like it.

That and it introduced NEW meta for those focused on that sort of thing, aka Eidolon Metaframing and Orb Hunting.

I absolutely hated POE on release, and still dislike it greatly. Fortuna, on the other hand, did improve open world mechanics, and I really liked the Orb Vallis itself. The premise, the scenery. It's just nice to be in. Hunting and fishing is still fun. And I really like K-Drive, for no sane reason whatsoever.

Ultimately, to me both served as distraction from core gameplay of running tiles constantly. It's a nice change of pace, but barely anything more than that.

i sort of feel like you should actually watch the video if you want to complain about it

Personally I hate PoE, but Fortuna was a good improvement over it and I don't mind it nearly as much. If Heart of Deimos improves even further, then it might actually be an actively enjoyable experience. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I mean it looks like fortuna 2/PoE3 3? Which I'll agree with posters here yeah Fortuna was better than PoE. What do you think particularly stands out here? Because it still looks like you're spending a huge amount of time running across empty land mass.

But I still think this game is by far at its best when you're on regular tileset missions. And nothing I saw in the gameplay demo particularly won me over as this being any more fun than those. I admit I was excited with PoE was announced and even Fortuna I had high hopes for but I got immediately burnt out on the grinding.

I hate the open world stuff, but I know others like it so to each their own.
I think it's fine really.

I quite enjoy the open worlds. Sneaking around solo on Ivara to explore, conserve, mine, and fish: fun, relaxing. Doing some public bounties: same as any other mission, therefore fun. Eidolons and spiders: just assassination missions in a slightly different context, therefore fun. Throw some archwing and/or k-drive and/or a stolen dargyn into the mix and it's all even better.

The open worlds suit my preference to wander around doing whatever catches my eye and not worrying about my progress along a linear path. They're more sandboxy than the regular missions.

I'm not shocked tbh. We have PoE (being occupied by Grineer), Fortuna (being occupied by Corpus), it was just the matter of time before they introduce us to the world being occupied by Infested. However I'm really not excited about it. I feel like they could have done more, fill them more with random encounters. You know.. during the exploration how about there is a chance to uncover something unique (Lets say new landing craft, unique NPCs, something to motivate you to explore instead of doing it for new matterials , fishing, achievements or because of rivens).

Yeah people like hydron 24/7 better.
I unironically love hydron compared to PoE.

I honestly can't think of anything in Warframe I hate doing more than mining ore and fishing for hours in PoE or doing any of the numerous boring fetch quests for rep.

i mean, tbf- Deimos looks more like; multiple layers instead of being just 1 massive open landscape, which is a very nice change

I do not get why players are upset with 'content island' when it rewards you. Fortuna gave out the ability to use archgun on land, frames, weapon, ect.
