How is this achievement unlocked? I have almost every achievement in the game (except for the MR ranks which are not achievable) but can't seem to unlock this one.

It says to "Survive 8 waves of Defense using only melee attacks". I have tried doing this on Akkad with just a melee weapon (which is really easy solo) but still no achievement. I also made sure not to use any warframe abilities since it says "only melee attacks" and nothing.

If you got this achievement, how did you do it? What was your loadout?

Sortie melee only defense with excalibro's exalted blade unlocked it for me.

Good to know abilities are allowed. I still don't understand why it's not unlocking for me. I did 10 waves on Akkad with just a Sydon and got nothing. I just tried doing it again a few minutes ago and did 10 wave on Akkad with a Tonbo, again, nothing.

I wonder if it requires the mission to be level 50+ enemies but doesn't state it on the description.

I'll give a sortie a try the next time there is a defense mission.

it probably counts your squadmates too; I also unlocked it in a melee only sortie.
Sentinal weapons did not matter since I had my Sweeper on as usual.

No need for sortie. I did it on Earth Dark Sector.

Just be alone and unequip all weapons except melee.
