Is there a difference between the'stalker' and the 'shadow stalker'

I really want 'war', so I looked up 'warframe stalker' to find the drop rates, I see one page for the stalker, it does not have 'war' as a drop, then I see another page for the 'shadow stalker', and that one does have 'war' as a drop

Are there 2 seperate characters? or is this just outdated?

Yeah it same character , you can meet usual Stalker until you complete Second Dream quest, and after it it will be Shadow Stalker (with War/Broken War drops). btw their scans are separate, so try to scan him before doing this quest. You still can meet usual stalker after Second Dream if you running with ppl who didnt done this quest.

Yikes, never bothered to scan, I already completed the second dream

Don't worry about scanning. DE won't give you anything for it.

Yikes, never bothered to scan, I already completed the second dream

Since The Second Dream is a replayable quest, you SHOULD be able to get those scans for the original Stalker by doing it again. It's my favorite quest still & I need a couple scans on him too, so that's what I have planned right after the Pyrus Project is complete!

It was a great work in my opinion, and I might just change my Tenno Alignment, if that choice repeats as well.

I didn't think Second Dream even had an alignment choice, I thought those started with War Within.

though the whole system is amusing because DE even admitted in a devstream that they have NO idea what the alignment system is actually for and was thrown in completely arbitrarily without a plan for it

edit: oh wait maybe you meant your Focus school? you can get extra lenses from the worst content in the game if you want to level other schools. the quest won't give you new ones

It was a great work in my opinion, and I might just change my Tenno Alignment, if that choice repeats as well.

Second dream does nothing for alignment. The initial stuff with the questions only changes the order of the schools when they are presented for the first time to you. Absolutely nothing changes in your game from those questions, as you can pick any school from that list.

To OP. As for Stalker and Shadow Stalker, yes. The game counts them as different entities from the same faction. If I remember, you do get a broken War from the quest. Forgot if you get the BP or fully built, but you get one still. Shadow Stalker drops BPs for War, Dread, Despair and Hate. In my case, it drops Dread the most, when it's not dropping some low tier mod.

Perhaps it WAS War Within. Apparently I need a refresher, at this point.
With all that has transpired in the story, it's certainly not a bad idea. ;)
