XBOX 360 Controller Stopped Working except for Control Sticks
Just out of the blue, I cannot press buttons anymore. I really suck at PC games without a controller and I've really taken a liking to this game. Played for hours before this happened.

I tried looking this up but I didn't see a solution in the discussions that raised questions. Is there a go to fix for this now?

First, restart PC. If it doesn't work, check the Warframe input options and make sure the mappings are set for the x360 controller. Do also check if Steam isn't trying to change your configurations as Steam itself has it's own mapping set for xbox controllers and could cause conflicts with Warframe's own config. So make sure only one is working.

Thank you Hanuke, restarting the PC right now. Quick question. How can I tell if Steam's mapping set is infering with the game's?

In general, if you're not seeing a widespread reporting of controller problems, especially with a commonly used one like a 360 controller, it's always a good idea to look at those controller drivers Steam has.

Check through Big Picture Mode. There's a section about controllers. Browse around it until you find a list that shows a list of controller types with check boxes next to them. The list includes also Playstation and Switch Pro controllers. If you want to use WF's native controller inputs, see if unchecking the xbox support off in Big Picture mode helps in any way.

And to add, the BPM option is actually used to add controller configurations similar to how it's done on the Steam Controller to other control pads. But still check it in case it's bugging out.

Okay! After restarting didn't work, I found that page you were talking about @Hanuke and the XBOX controller section wasn't selected.

I toggled it on because it said it might help and then everything started working again! Thank you for helping me find that section of the Settings!

@Something Something Watermelons, thank you for your advice as well. I will remember what you guys both said and will check there if no similar complaints are out.

Have a great day! :D

My controller is not recognizing certain buttons. Thats how it started last time. So Its like it started everything over. I'm not quite sure what to do. I normally do not play in Big Picture mode but when I tried it as a solution it did not work

What options WERE ticked on when you went to go check first?

The one that was checked was "Guide Button Focuses Steam". Not sure what that means from the description honestly. Its the only one that was checked

In the past I was having some bad problems and in my case doing the " If you want to use WF's native controller inputs, see if unchecking the xbox support off in Big Picture mode helps in any way." Part of the suggestion worked. Having steam do things was messing things up.

When you press the center glowing X button, it'll bring the Steam window up to focus, as if you click on the window.

Try checking all the Controller Drivers off.

Eh. Haven't used an xbox controller in ages. All I know is that both Windows AND Steam have stuff for it, and of course, being different companies, something may come into conflict. I have to go to work now. But will try to post from there to follow up. For now, try googling "xbox 360 on Steam config." You can also add your specific operating system and warframe to narrow the search.

Also, in Windows 10, there's an xbox gamebar I think. If that's your OS, shut all of that off as well.

How do I bring that up window up without the X button so I can turn all of the drivers off? Was that in settings?

If I turn off the XBOX configuration support, now the controller does not work at all in Warframe

Maybe Steam warframe forces it all through Steam's configuration. So keep the xbox check marked on Steam. Anyway, exactly which buttons are not working and in which situations?
