Growing power is +25% ability strength so unless you are running extremely high ability strength which I doubt anyone does on Excalibur then percentage-wise that may actually win. But not by much, prolly like 16-17% extra total damage over no aura. (doing math out of my ass)
Also Growing Power gives a cool team buff which is nice.
Steel Charge gives you good damage from the get go before you trigger your first status.
Tho with 3 Umbral Mods and Growing power you seem to cap on the base status chance at 100% so that's I think a bit of a win cause you can use other slots.
So yea, Growing Powah FTW, capacity can be solved with forma
Every time you hit with the sword, Growing Power activates, so it is almost always active ... mod capacity is not a problem
Any channeled ability cast during GP buff will retain the 25% for as long as it's active even if the buff runs out.
Same goes for the Pax Arcane power strength bonus, the efficincy however will only remain while the buff is active.
Steel charge ends up with more base damage, which only is further amplified by proper modding.
Basically you use Growing Power if you need to hit the 100% chromatic blade status chance, otherwise use Steel Charge with a mod focus on duration to maximize your damage with chromatic blade
Edit: My own calculations were a bit off also. It was 120% for each CO stack, not 100%. My bad. But what this means is that Steel Charge is even less relevant. :/
