Landing craft =/= Orbiter
I'm dumb, I just found out that our landing craft and the Orbiter are two separate things...

I always thought that the area we are always in between missions was just the interrior of our ship "Landing craft" but apparently that's the orbiter. A much larger ship that our landing craft docks with between missions.

Now, I'm confused. Is Ordis the ship cephalon of the orbiter or the landing craft? Or both? Why can't a crew of tenno just share an orbiter? (Railjack probobly solves this) This just confuses me.

Since you can switch your landing craft, it makes sense that Ordis is ship's cephalon that also has control over the landing craft

Hi

that's normal to be confused... we never actually see the full orbiter from outside... ordis is controlling both orbiter and landing crafts... (and railjack interceptors apparently...)

I'm bad with roommates. I'm VERY rule heavy.

As for Ordis, he is our ship Cephalon (the Orbiter). He most likely communicates to us through the Somatic Link in the Transference Room.

Some day I would like to see the orbiter's exterior, maybe even get to customise it.

Check your codex, the cephalon fragments has the artwork for it.

Also how come the Grineer and Corpus have docks specifically made for our landing craft?

Maybe the docks are from the orokin era and they just never thought about removing it. Kind of like "never change a running systems" and every Grineer that mentioned this flaw was seen as defective, while the corpus crewmember better never criticize their masters, if they want to keep their jobs.

Or it just could be universal docks, after all, the plans are back from orokin era and I don't see a reason, why they should make it unnecessary difficult to get from one ship to another. The docking process of our landing crafsts could just be a bit weird. Even though, they probably got designed to fit into regular docks.

Both. Ordis is your ever-present mission assistant, there to be the voice in your ear at all times, especially once he takes over the Lotus's role. He goes where you go.

Why can't a crew of tenno just share an orbiter?
They kinda can, if you invite your teammates onto your orbiter, everyone can walk around just fine.

Problem is, there's only one arsenal system (yours), only one transference chamber, and only one personal quarters. It's not equipped to support multiple Tenno on a long-term basis at once.

I thought that after you login into the game two other orbiters fly past you and you can see them through the front window. Now I am not sure, those may have been just some other ships and I just assumed that they represent orbiters of other Tennos.

Tenno apparently can share living space on an Orbiter (I have no idea how or why this happened but I find it funny after reading this post) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1443443669

I just wish that while the lotus is gone, we could somehow fix ordis' lotus transmissions, those glitchy sounds make me annoyed...
