Macro for slide jumping
I've searched around about macros and how DE allows the use of them so long as you don't automate the game. However whenever people give examples of what they use it for they never mention it being used for just slide jumping.

Look, i'd love to be able to do without macros, but I can't buy an ergonomic keyboard and everytime i play this game for more than 1h I end up with my hands and wrist hurting. So i really wanted to know if that's an okay use of it.

Reorganizing your keyboard layout might help you do it naturally, like moving crouch away from ctrl and up to shift.

A macro for jump+shift is a very small macro, and you're not even automating it, so I doubt the chances of you getting into trouble are very high, but of course it's always safest to not resort to them unless you have no other choice

Rebind crouch to a key you can reach with your index finger, then you don't have to do weird hand gymnastics to do bullet jumps and slides.
I've bound it to 'E' myself.
Works great. No need for a macro.

Bind to mouse wheel? Thats what i've heard people do for a quick action.

I bound crouch to the V key. That's where my thumb naturally sits when using WASD so to bullet jump I just have to roll my thumb down from V to space bar in one easy no octopus-finger motion.

The amount of time where shift or control is held while doing other things makes my left pinky get super-stiff and sore after a while.

It's making me appreciate Vauban more and more, as I can hide somewhere, throw a flechette orb around the corner, throw a vortex on top of it, and rack up the kills without needing to sprint or bullet jump or roll, or any of that. Once everything dies, I can come out of my little corner and walk to completion.

Just re-bind keys that cause you issues with hand fatigue. It might feel odd at first having to relearn the layout but it's worth not having the hand cramping.

I've been using macros for bullet jumping and slide melee for almost 2 years, if that's the route you choose then you'll be fine. That being said I fully support just rebinding to something easier, I have hold/crouch set to R (reload to C) and it works perfectly, I hardly even use the bullet jump macro. Just switch stuff around and find what's best for you.

it got a lil better after I switched toggle crouch to ctrl. Now I can just tap it instead of holding it before jumping.
