I can't kill protea

So I find it hard to do last part of this new quest
She regenerates
The Xoris weapon isn't good enough
I'm mr 6 using Wukong prime

I had some problem too XD But you need to charge Xoris and throw it on her and explode while she is using the rewind skill. At least that's what I did, failed lot of time but worked in the end o-o'
Use heavy atk, probably your mouse scroll button

for people who are like me and couldn't understand what to do based on in-game cues, you need to kill the floaty dudes, and when they turn into the transparent dudes you throw the xoris at them. once you do this about 3 times go kill protea, and when she starts regenerating health throw xoris and press the throw button again when it flies past her. Repeat until you win.

She deals quite a bit of damage, but as mentionned you need to charge up the Xoris (you should have 3 little stars near your cursor, 1 per charge).

Having a high regen or very tanky frame does help and a quick burst weapon is a must imo (i used the soma prime and wisp, worked just fine).

im mastery 26 and found that boss to be absolute bull. its needless and unnecessary difficulty, just to try and force players into using the glaive (which btw DE i hate and will never use please revamp this garbage). the other thing that really annoys the hell out of me about this fight is the utter lack of status effects you can place on Protea, its literally a fight that consists of shoot with op guns then try note: the TRY to get your character to throw the empowered glaive toss and hope your controls don't glitch out and hope the secret power actually triggers. im used to hard bosses like in Dark Souls but this is not the same kind of difficulty. Its inconvenience the hell out of you with a side of horrendous controls difficulty, or as i like to put it in other words artificial difficulty or "Fake" difficulty, hard to be hard. however no matter how you look at it its trash design and needs a major nerf because we did not do the quest for a boss we did it for a story.

also @[AM] Leopolis some of us used a controller so having precise accuracy with a slow as hell melee weapon is next to impossible

I took my well beloved invis LOKI with the Xoris and made it... obv i couldn't kill it since she can't be killed but i used one hand secondary with the glaive.

You just press&hold the attack melee button to the laser dudes to kill them then use it again to collect the thingies thay transform into to have 3 charges...after you killed protea and she's in the invulnerable state just explode those 3 charges.

Rinse and repeat 3-4 times... she will activate her rewind ability once (or just once for me) so you need to explode 3 charges at that too.

The AOE on the detonation is very generous and the weapon is quite fast overall. If the windup feels sluggish then use Amalgam Organ Shatter and/or Killing Blow.

I wound up beating Protea exclusively using the Xoris (as Nezha), I brought guns, but didn't end up using them. Regular attacks with it were enough to burst her health down, and the bit of practice provided by the earlier objectives was enough for me to have my eye in for the throws.

The xoris weapon is totally unreliable.
It explodes lot of times when I myself threw it
And idk why we should rely for this weapon to kill protea.
It should be like a gear weapon imo

Weapon is so bad and god knows who made those awfull controls . The heavy attack doesnt even detonate many times and and i had to change my key in order for it to work .

I agree its tough with a controller. But still very do able if you follow the ques.

But yes with a keyboard it was simple simple.

Fire off an aoe at the specters, hold e, tap e.

When you have 3 charges repeat that on Protea.

Honestly its not a tough fight even with an unmodded Xoris. It doesnt need to deal damage it just needs to trigger on the Workers, Specters and Protea.

I think it's a matter of understanding what the mission is and how to do it. I didn't had any issues with the quest at all.. Actually I was able to complete it while leveling a lvl.22 nova and an opticor vandal, without any hazzle at all.
Only issue I found when re-running the mission for other parts is that, sometimes the gliave wouldnt get thrown when I press heavy attack.. and I had to hold the melee key inorder to throw it.

hmm did you have a 1-handed secondary weapon equipped?
You hold melee to throw when dual wielding with a Secondary and a Glaive.
You heavy attack to throw when wielding a Glaive by itself.

I found it imposible because my melee was bound to scroll wheel. Once I changed it back to E(the key that broke because of Warframe on my laptop) I managed to kill her. But yeah the mechanic of charging and throwing the thing is VERY poorly explained.
