1)sleep equinox/ivara. easier to target the head that way. use on a group of enemies to have a lot of heads at the same time. preferably use something with punch through and multishot
2) zephyr. charge 1 to glide for a long time. headshot away
when i come across something like this.
me: really are you f#cking kidding me?
riven:
Limbo banish + stasis holds them in the air for easy slide shooting.
Nova Molecular Prime can kill them with the explosion for shooting the dargyn while sliding.
I think Nidus can even still just use larva on the ones on the ground and it counts as in the air. So 2 slide and shoot.
I can't seem to get 19 things to be close enough to kill in 1 wall latch / dash area and I can't do it how I normally do that type because I can't go into a survival or the like without failing the "without raising alarms" portion.
I tried in open world but apparently going into archwing counts as touching the floor.
Any time I try to gather 19 enemies in a non-alert mission, I can only convince 6-10 to follow me at once and then I can't manage to wall jump to an area with more.
As to the mission type, Survival missions raise an alarm (you raise it to start) but Defense missions do not.
I tried two more times in defense missions and the challenge instantly fails as soon as you trigger the mission by getting close to the defense target.
I really don't want to have to go through asking someone else to not kill things and not blaze off through a mission just so I can do this riven challenge.
*FINALLY*
Managed it in Boethius, the infested mobile defense on mercury. After trying many different places, I finally found 1 room that had the wall height and spawn paths I needed. Oddly enough I had to kill around 30 enemies because it would stop counting them every so often.
I had to latch and kill then jump in place until I started hearing infested grumbles from 1 room over and hop on the wall close to the door until they started coming in so I could latch and kill 2-3 at a time. Repeated that many times over more than half an hour with at least 10-15 kills not counting. I didn't reset the challenge -- they just stopped counting for a short time then started up again where I left off.
This was the absolute worst riven challenge I've gotten so far and all because of the "without raising alarms" portion. Gave me a riven for my Guandao though so it was more than worth it to me.
Probably Infested, since they can't raise alarms... Not Survival, not Defense... Exterminate? Hard to pull enemies from where they start... Mob-AHHH
How about an Infested Mobile Defense? Enemies will constantly spawn to attack the console, more than enough for you to hit the number you need in the time you have on the wall.
Infested might actually be tougher than you think at first, because most Infested tiles have low walls. You could fix that by doing an Infested Invasion on a tileset with bigger walls.
...So yeah. Infested Invasion, Mobile Defense.
Almost all of the infested "exterminate" missions are actually crossfire missions and alarms get set off from infesteds fighting the other faction there so no go. There IS one pure infested exterminate on Eris, but the 3 times I entered it, the riven challenge instantly failed.
Excavation also instantly failed for me when I hit the first extractor. Capture also auto-failed the challenge.
I did finally manage it in a perfect room with 30 minutes of wall latching and jumping trying to trigger and bring infesteds from other rooms to where I could shoot them from the walls, but I had to do it before I got to the first console.
I've done the "kill XX enemies in a single wall latch / run" several times in the past, and it was always fairly easy until this one with the "no alarms" requirement. It just locks out 90% of the missions in game simply due to the factions that can set alarms off and the missions with automatic alarms.
Zephyr works well for this one. If you use her CHARGED #1, you'll hover - and if you zoom in/use iron-sights/right-click by default, it counts as an Aim-Glide kill. So kit her for Duration, snag a long range weapon with a scope, and plink it out on those enemies near the Geyser. Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Ma'am.
