A way to understand active buffs on self?
Hi all,
I was wondering if there was a way to understand/read the buff symbols we get on the top right of our screen. Sometimes we can get 5-10 active buffs that tend to not have much meaning as theyre just symbols to me.
Also the reactant buff we get when we collect 10 seem to have different buffs but use the same symbol so I dont know what they are.
Really, Im just wondering if there is a way to read the buffs without having to use an external source.
Maybe they can implement method to hover mouse over effect and it tells a brief discussion.
Thanks

There's no consistent way to do this. Opening and closing the escape menu sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Gaining a new buff sometimes works (i.e. reveals the names of all active buffs in sequence) and sometimes doesn't (i.e. reveals only its own name or no buff names at all). Semlar has a list of all buff icons and their corresponding buffs, but that's an external source.

Reactant buffs are easy to tell apart, though. It's explained on the wiki in the obvious place.

For a couple seconds after the buff is applied to you, there will be text above the symbol stating the name of the buff, which can help you keep track of what's what if you're familiar with frame abilities. Other than that, not much to do other than start looking up what symbols refer to which buffs.

As far as reactant buffs go, it randomly picks one piece of your currently equipped gear (either your frame or one of your weapons) and applies a buff to it based on which item is picked. If your frame is chosen, its current power strength and range are doubled for the duration of the buff. If your primary or secondary weapon is chosen, the weapon no longer consumes ammo for the duration of the buff (can be fired infinitely without reloading). If your melee is chosen, heavy attacks performed by it will no longer consume any of the combo counter for the duration of the buff. You can see which piece of gear got the reactant buff with a quick visual inspection; the affected item will have a "glitchy" effect overlayed on its model similar to that found on Corrupted enemies, and emit small, pale lightning bolts.

I have played this game for 5 years.
I can tell you with 100% certainty I don't even bother trying to memorize them.
If I get a buff that's great. The only buffs I really care about are the visual ones seen on the character.

The only symbol I keep a look out is Growing Power - otherwise I don't bother remembering the rest.
