An LMG should be very, very, very loud. Where an assault rifle sounds like rapidly tapping a tin can against a sheet of aliminium foil, an LMG should sound like the great god Zeus smashing a sledgehammer against the hull of the starship Enterprise at 110 bpm. It should only offer a hip-fire option, as attempting to hold something so large at head-height and with enough recoil to shatter shoulderblades should be an impossibility, even for Warframes. It should spew out empty bullet casings so fast that at the end of an elimination mission you'd need to swim to the exit, and most importantly, it should make all the clicks and clunks an LMG makes when reloading (here are some examples)

While the array of assault rifles in Warframe all have their own purpose and uses, and are all very practical weapons in their own right, they lack the impractical, unpredictable and devastating nature of a 50 calibur fully automatic belt-fed light machine gun, or more specifically, none of them live up to an M60 LMG.

checking in to say I want this.
Checking in to say that i do not want this but would be ok with it.
I want something meatier, slower, and beefier (with mandatory punchthrough).

This would also work:

Like WHY OVER-THE-SHOULDER GUNS ARE STILL NOT A THING?
I imagine for a variety of reasons. Firstly, they'd have to make whole new animations sets for holding, firing, reloading, parkour, aim-gliding and holstering. Secondly, due to the variety of shapes Warframes come in, shoulder guns would have a lot of clipping and/or positional issues with many of them. Thirdly, the camera position would have to alter slightly to calibrate the cross-hair for a weapon being fired from over the shoulder rather than being held directly in front.
The noticable thing with all new primaries when they're added in is that they can all be held and used in the same manner as an assault rifle, which means so long as the weapon is held in a Warframes hands, it should work universally for all of them without any real issues for animations or camera location. Situating a primary in an entirely different area of the body introduces a lot of possible conflicts and potential bugs.
They could make them automatic but i guess they would have to reduce their killing power so they aren't easy mode or use them on new warframes that don't really need weapons in their hands to fight.
Either way i wouldn't mind having lmgs like guns similar to the m249 saw, RPK, DP28, FN Minimi, Type 81 etc.
just nice to have more meaty, impact sounding guns.
This has always been my arguement when it comes to guns in Warframe. Some of them sound alright, like the Karak or the Braton, but the majority of them sound like piddley air rifles or spud guns. The Soma for example sounds like a sewing machine once it's reached full firing rate, while the Tenora sounds like a fully automatic staple gun.
I get that it's meant to be sci-fi futuristic stuff, but that shouldn't retract from the fact that firing a gun is the act of slamming a hammer into a chamber, creating a spark that ignites gunpowder inside the casing of a bullet, creating an explosion that propels a metal shard from a barrel at high velocity, and that this series of events should result in a loud boom.
it basically Legion Minigun from titanfall 2
the longer you shot the more accurate the weapon become
and alt-fire for Tenora basically a Sniper
