I can't do the thermia fractures event, is it worth it?
I've tried to do a lot of different strategies when solo, either I die because my frame is too squishy, the coolant gets destroyed because I can't protect it, or I can't fend off the enemies because my frame doesn't kill enough

I tried going with pubs quite a few times, the point is that my computer is horrible, I lowered my graphics to as low as possible, closed any other running things that are not Warframe, no playing music in the background, yet orb vallis still takes really long to load

Whenever I try to join, it literally takes atleast 2 minutes before I can actually enter, then I get incredible lagspikes (I usually lose connection here and my game will freeze/crash) then I have a consistent FPS of which I can count I can count with one hand, but that is only if everything went well, because around 15 seconds after spawning in I usually get disconnected from the party too and sent back to my orbiter (which takes atleast 5 minutes if it actually does something, I had to restart warframe atleast 3 times today)

And then there's the common occasion where the host leaves the squad, which results in my game crashing / freezing

I really want to participate in this event, I always participate in events, but I simply can't, I get it, I should get a better computer, but I don't have the money for a gaming computer, next to that, I'm still a student, I can't afford such a thing

I get it that this is probably my fault for using a laptop, but should I just ignore this event? I really don't want to miss out on the opticor, maybe if I tried really hard I'd get lucky sometimes and get a fracture, but the chances are way too small, and I'm spending way too much time on an event that my computer can't handle, I definitely have the motivation to do the farming, but my computer just can't handle it, and after seeing no progress after literally 7 hours of trying I'm tired

frost works very well here, dont know about limbo, didnt try him yet but if it works then hes probably the best since the enemy dont spawn nullifiers for some reason

Unless you want Opticor Vandal really badly, you can skip it I guess.

Event itself is pretty chill, and can be run solo. Mesa works pretty well. Or Limbo i guess. Frost gets some trouble with jumping enemies, and even with good FPS fissures are visual vomit, so it's hard to orient yourself.

Protip let the launcher do the cleaning stuff. Really helps with entering vallis times.

I've had nullifiers (well, the drones that give everything else nullifier bubbles), they are very rare though , like 1 maybe 2 every 10 fissures (possibly linked to the alert level).

There's also the hyenas which definitely ignore stasis and possibly the rift altogether. I think the jackal can as well, but since it sticks out so much it's very easy to kill before it becomes a problem.

My best experiences so far have been with Gara, I don't think you can cast splinter storm on the canister the way you can with other defence objectives but you can cast it on your squishier allies (if available, also works on pets). And, of course, you have the wall which does block eveything, including hyenas, though the occasional moa will jump over it. If it's near the road you also want to be wary of Coildrives as they will destroy any section wall they drive through.

The launcher will sometimes prompt you to optimize your download cache after updating, but you can manually do it by clicking the little gear near the top right of the launcher and pressing the optimize button.

Optimizing the download cache

When the launcher is open, there's a gear icon in the corner, and clicking on it will open another window with a few options like optimization. (Verifying through Steam will not do anything)

Did a bunch of solo runs with a Nekros. Shadows up and they won't target the coolant at all.

You should get the ignis, the heavy machingun weapons, or the penta, those guns are good fending off hordes of enemies.

As for warframes Gara, Frost, Mesa and Limbo are my personal favorites, but beware the bullifier bubbles.

I can't confirm this, but it seems like leaving a spiderbot alive will reduce the amount of trash mobs that spam you, and having two bosses up at once (jackal and spooder is what I had), next to no enemies at all spawned

If you don't leave the beacon alive for a period of time, it will never spawn nullifiers from my experience.

I got some of them near the temple of grofit, so i think is different when defending canisters.

If your struggling to do the event, either your struggling to kill enemies and as such your getting overrun and failing or you can kill effectively but struggle to stay alive because your taking too much damage.

For the first issue i would recommend one of the "nuke" frames that also have defensive utility such as Octavia, Mag or Nova. For the second issue try using a high survivability frame that also has a bit of AoE damage for control such as Oberon or Gara but only use these if you have weapons you know are capable should you need to rely on them
