Equinox having a male and female form is cool

Yeah, confirmed by the Devs when the original came out. Prime version's just made the Night and Combined versions a bit more obviously so.

They used non-committal "masculine" and "feminine" terminology from the start. Some people assumed trans. There were both people who praised and complained about it. It eventually blew up into a whole thing with death threats until DE officially stated officially it was female.

Can anyone explain why making Equinox male and female was so controversial? I don't see an issue with it, it's not sexist against trans people (I don't think so anyway)
