How To Fix Maiming Strike?
Had an MR26 guy ♥♥♥♥ all over me for being Limbo earlier before he proceeded to maiming strike all over the stage and say that "shooting was too risky" and "it's not my fault that DE can't balance the game." How big should the nerf be? 30% down from 90%? A big drop would balance it out.

Memeing Strike isn't even a mandatory mod anyways. Sure it is nice to have but it doesn't change much. Plus with Melee 3.0 it probably will become even more niche
Memeing strike is OK. No need to nerf it. Real problem is that DE allowing using macros and doesn't really cares if its automated or not.

At least now it isn't that bad as it was before with telos boltace
How to fix memeing strike, tell that idiot to STFU, then block him, and make a mockery of players who think spin to win is still a thing when is slowly dying in region chat, A-holes like him think their prejudice justifies rambling like an idiot and trying to exploit a dead meme.

Maiming strike is a beast of a mod lol , any sane person can see it can turn "meh" weapons into red crit sliding maniac machines .

Its like a contingency plan you feel - oh man i just modded this weapon and put 69 forma into and it still bites , oh wait *puts on memeing strike* BOOSTO and your egh weapon is now one shotting the whole game on 1,5x combo multiplier , while you're laughing it up with your slide att spams hehehe

Edit : i do think its a mad strong mod , i also think its crazy fun to use aaaaaaand people defending it or saying its fine the way it is are the people who are afraid of it getting nerfed the most

We should just ban people who use it.
It's hardly manditory, but it can be game breaking... i think the point is that it makes some builds absurdly powerful BUT fixing it is tricky--- however here is the thing. Melee 3.0 is coming and with it we will see a massive overhaul to everything melee... i have a sneaking feeling that maiming strike will be effected by this in one way or another.

Im pretty sure DE knows very well the Fd up hard by adding maiming strike, but they probably feel its too late now and dont want to take away people's toys.

Even if it ruins matches by making an already ez game even more braindead.

Personally I look down upon any maiming strike whip user, its just pathetic.
eh.. using a powerfull mechanic to accomplish goals isn't that bad...

if it WERE that bad, you'd have to "look down upon" almost every single build ever made that works.

For me, maiming strike lets me actually use other weapons as well as possible because I know I can always just slide attack out of a crowd that's starting to overwhelm me. I hate to spam it jsut because I refuse to use macros and non-macro slide attack spam destroys my hand after about 6 attacks.
Oh yea i wanted to add a possible idea for fixing the problem , i was thinking something along the lines of nerfing range in some way , maybe disallow the crit addition based on how far an enemy is from you ? So if an enemy is at the max distance that your weapon can reach , meaning the end of your blade/whip then no crit is added and as they get closer to the guard of your weapon then the crit addition gets higher until it maxes out at the 90% .

I dunno just spitballing here .

Probably should be the opposite. A shaft will not do damage like the business portion of a weapon. The range should be cut over all. No one should be able to fly around the stage with claws slicing and dicing everything. The range is terrible on those weapons and it should be very hard to use with that mod.
They could just turn the mod into a corrupted mod, so you get your crit chance but also a huge increase in slide friction: the more damage you want, the less far you can slide.
Pretty simple - just make it work like every other crit mod in the game, that is, add a multiplicative +90% crit chance rather than a flat additive 90% base crit chance that scales with Blood Rush. Hell, even just making it not scale with Blood Rush anymore would do the job.

Melee 3.0 most likely will revamp this. Why r u still discussing it. Problem isn't in stats of mod, problem is ppl who use Spin2Win macroses.
You want to nerf a mod because someone offended you? Even if the mod should be toned down, it still doesn't justify knee-jerk reactions like that.
