Option to Disable Sliding/Skidding
I love what I've played of this game so far, but one thing that constantly throws me off it the fact that I slide across a room when I simply wanted to crouch; this usually gives away my location (Because it's now in the middle of the room) before I get the first shot in.

I understand it can be a tactical advantage in some circumstances, but it doesn't suit my method of play-style at all; perhaps it will in the future, perhaps it will have to in the future, but for now it's been nothing but a constant problem.

I tried looking for an option to disable it but I couldn't find anything, so I was wondering if there even is an option and if there is, where to find it.

Thank you.

I mean, if you dont run when crouching you dont slide right? so ya know, go to location, stop, crouch, get your shot in.

If the solution were that easy I wouldn't be here. xD When moving towards a place some just want to crouch straight down without having a break in between; the slide in general should have been optional to begin with, by all means it can be enabled by default but it should have always been optional.

or just slide to the place where you want to crouch down and stay crouching?

It's really weird but I've tried that and when I hit the wall I kept on sliding on the spot. xD

When you start sliding press to face the opposite direction.

The momentum will stop
You need slide for bullet jump and bullet jump is 99% of movement

No technically but you need to transition from a crouch into a jump which would otherwise become a slide, ( unless stationary ).

would you rather hit your head on the wall and colapse?

It's a slight "bug turned feature" that happened when they added Parkour 2.0 that you slide without having to sprint, meaning just crouching while moving, regardless of sprint, will make you slide. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they'll ever change/revert that, so you'll have to get accustomed to crouching before moving.

If you haven't tried it, I recommend maybe binding Crouch ( Toggle ) if you're currently only using Crouch ( Hold ). I personally use left Ctrl for Toggle, and left Alt for Hold. As long as I press Ctrl before doing any moving, I don't find accidental sliding a problem.

It would be hilarious for videos, but I see your point.

But isn't that the player's choice?

Sliding is better for movement (between Bullet Jumps) and is used a lot more than Crouching. So it's not a great idea to disable it.

For Crouching, you probably have to learn to always come to a complete stop, turn off Toggle Sprint (if it's active), then crouch.

I wouldn't say it's incredibly useful for how I play though, in fact it's actually a detriment every time I accidentally activate it.
