What drill to use on Fortuna

Currently trying to get my hands on some Zodian gems.. Some people say that I can use the old PoE drills, some say I can not.. Can anyone turn me to a written source with a final answer?

Well you can use the PoE drills. IIRC the PoE drill can't give you the rare minerals/gems from deposits

I'm not sure if you can use the PoE ones to get them but just get the Fortuna one, it's better than the PoE ones and very cheap to get, and you can use it everywhere

All cutters work on Plains of Eidolon and Orb Vallis. However, the Sunpoint Plasma Drill purchased from Smokefinger, is required to mine the rarest Gems in Orb Vallis. Like the Advanced Nosam Cutter, the Sunpoint drill also possesses a minimap radar and is able to extract Eidolon Gems.

So in short, you need Fortuna's laser mine to farm Zodian.

So I thought, but there ARE apparently advantages to using the old one.. Much easier to get Amarast gems..

According to the gathering tips here: https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Amarast , it seems that the old drill is only for getting amarast o.0 weird

It can be used to farm Amarast faster but Fortuna's drill can do too. The reason old drill is prefered is because it dilutes the mining table with Zodian and Thyrst.

Yeah, so basically it goes " old drill for amarast " and " new drill for everything else "

Yeah, that's the gist of it.

I´m pretty nsure the best POE drill is exatcly the same as the only drill from fortuna, which you can get pretty early on. FOrtuna drill will get you the rarest minerals on both POE and Fortuna content, aswell as gems display on minimap.

yeah, but the PoE one IS better for Amarast for some reason
