Wow the Velocitus is terrible as a Heavy weapon. Why hasn't DE fixed this?
So I just got the ability to make an archgun into a heavy weapon to use on the ground. I knew right away that I wanted it to be the Velocitus as I have that thing OP as heck and can kill the Jordas Golem in 5 seconds. No joke. Well it turns out that same killing power is completely gone when you use it on foot and can't kill anything with it, yet the default archwing weapon, the Imperator/Imperator Vandal is the best weapon to use on foot. How backwards can this get!? Why haven't DE fixed this at all?

I think you might be missing some essential mods.

I have all but two of those. I know how to mod things. I just said I can kill the Jordas Golem in 5 seconds. It will still doing garbage damage against the Profit Taker and was only doing 1600 on Lephantis.

I think the Orb taker got armor that resist against magnetic damage according to the data. And the Lephantis got 1200 fossilized armor compare to Jordas with 250 armor.

I researched their weaknesses before hand and put on the correct mods. I can almost one shot Lephantis with my Tigris Prime, but the game stops that cause of a damage cap on that boss. Velocitus couldn't get anywhere near the cap.

Well, Jordas also have a damage multiplier for the engine/weakspot, so I think that's why you can mow down Jordas quicker than Lephantis. Magnetic damage doesn't even got any positive or negative effect on Lephantis armor. And Velocitus mainly does magnetic damage, which ain't good toward infested.

Compared to other archguns Velocitus might be strong, but archguns have much lower damage than regular weapons. The variants that you can deploy on ground actually have much higher stats than the ones you use in archwing missions, yet they still pale in comparison to nearly any regular weapon. Profit-taker is also resistant to magnetic dmg which also makes a huge difference.

So in other words... I should be glad I held off on building any of this "heavy" weapon stuff, by the sounds of it

I dunno, Fluctus is pretty solid, what with the wall hacks and aoe.
i dont even have the right mods for radiation on my arch gun and i one shot the arms and legs on the orb mother 9/10 ... so you are nuts, is it slow? yes, does it hit like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ truck? YES! i havent seen much that can stand up to a direct hit from it.
Regardless of damage, they completely ruined Corvas and Velocitus heavy guns by giving that stupid stagger on full charge, at least Corvas still good with just tapping but Velocitus...
Also, for Velocitus you may need Critical Focus, the weapon rely too much on crits for big numbers and its only gets 60%CC with Parallax Scope.
