Mesa as a second Warframe
I'm thinking Mesa is a good second Warframe for me to get since I feel like she fits my playstyle being more gun oriented, but I looked at her stats and she has reduced armor and shield, so I'm afraid she's gonna be extemely fragile. I just don't want to get obliterated but I also want a fun and interesting Warframe to play as. Don't wanna play as Rhino even though that's what most people say to get as a second Warframe for new players. He seems like he's too easy and boring to play as. What do you guys think?

I recommend against mesa as your second warframe purely because farming keys for mutalist alad v is a pain in the ass when you're at the point where you're looking for your second frame (although if you have a clan that's willing to spot keys for you then go for it).

you may think rhino is boring because he's so simple, but there's almost an elegance in his simplicity. plus, tell me I'm wrong about there being something satisfying about being a linebacker and punching the ♥♥♥♥ out of things (him with any fist or sparring weapon).

So she is a good frame as her survivability is incredible, however due to her main use being with melee I would suggest rhino over her. Are you planning on buying your next warframe with plat or are you going to grind it out?
Grinding it out. I only have the 50 starting plat, don't plan on buying anymore plat. At least not right now.
If that is the case then go for rhino. Overall he is a pretty balanced frame for what he does. His 2 lets you become immune to all damage for 3 secs and any damage taken gets turned in to a "shield" for him if no damage is taken you just get a basic "shield". His 3 is a damage buff to all weapons for himself and his team if they are close enough. And his 4 allows you to makes enemies float in the air, which when combined with his 1 can allow you to fling enemies all around the room. He is definitely one of the better frames if you like using the weapons the game provides rather then being reliant on abilities.

She is a pain to grind for but she is a good frame. She is great at DPS but with some good survivability regardless of what some uninformed people suggest that she doesn't. The ability of 95% damage reduction scales into late game and the ability to jam a enemies weapons in invaluable when caught in a pickle.

Seems fair enough. I went with Rhino and bought the blueprint seeing it's the safer choice and what everyone recommends. I'm still confused as to how to get the parts for Warframes though. Is it RNG or are there certain missions to grind for certain parts?

that 95% damage reduction is only in the case of shots hitting you. a rocket hitting the ground near you, that butcher you didn't see, and the infested in general will all do full damage.

Short answer: yes

Long answer: Different warframes all have different means of aquisition. Some warframes (like Rhino) are acquired by fighting bosses on assassination missions (like the Jakal on Fossa in rhino's case). Others are acquired through random drops by various enemies (like Ash and manics), some are clan research (wukong), and others are PITA scavenger hunts (octavia).

True I should have mentioned it's ballistic damage but if you get hit by a Butcher, you deserve everything bad that happens to you. Bombards i ls a different story but they one shot a few of the Tanky frames fairly often so Mesa isn't going to out tank them.

And Mesa's 2 stuns melee attackers that get too close to you.

Those stray explosions are really the only threat against Mesa if you have your abilities up, but you can counter that too by using Quick Thinking.

I feel like quick thinking puts you in a bad position:

1) you flinch when it goes off, and you keep flinching when you (inevitably) get hit and trigger it again

2) it drains your energy every time you get hit (which will eventually leave you with no energy to recover).

additionally, you forgot gas clouds and napalm patches (and arc traps!).

that said, you are right about the fact that her second ability is a very potent complement to her 3rd.

As the others said, if you're grinding it out then go for Rhino ro Valkyr. In order to grind Mesa you need to be more experienced with better mods, since if I recall the quest to unlock the node is reasonably hihger level. To grind her out takes a long while too, you first have to farm for a particular component which only reliably shows up in alerts every day or two if lucky, then run a boss and hope that you get the parts, effectively meaning ~9 potential days of farming if you don't have a keyshare.
Other frames, like Valkyr who I'd recommend, just require you to kill a boss a few tinmes.

mesa is excellent for pretty much all content warframe throws at you. i say pretty much because i havent done the new alert mission type or the fortuna version of eidolons. like has been repeated alot, the 3rd ability is a damage reduction. but DONT rely on that at anything sortie 3 levels or above. you have to be mobile or you will melt. second ability is a pretty good crowd control which helps with butchers and other meleers that you dont see in time. first ability is trash. 4th is the only weapon you need besides something to melt nullifier bubbles.

really the only tip(or more a reminder) you need for her is, stay mobile. thats true for all frames of course but its really easy to try and roleplay as a turret with mesa.

Adaptation + Mesa's 3's your ticket. Don't build full ham, go for a balanced build and forma Peacemakers for a good damage build and you're golden like KFC.

Mesa is DPS, you want to be stacked with helpful mods to see her shine. Rhino is the best bet because you will encounter mission where you have no idea what's happening, and with Rhino's 2nd ability at least you will be able to finish the missions. Also, you will not be able to take down high level enemies if you are so new, I think, therefore you should focus on staying alive first and foremost.
What is DPS OwO

Damage-per-second, the maximum number of damage that can be dealt in as short a period of time is represented by this number.

Any time I've went down with mesa is whenever I mismanage my energy/forget to reapply shatter shield. Having 95% DR is extremely useful, especially if you aren't using Mesa's Waltz for her Peacemaker.
BurlsoL 2019년 2월 3일 오후 9시 31분
Mesa as a second frame will ruin your experience in the game and actively prevent you from learning how to mod or several other game mechanics like you would have normally. Not suggested for a new player since auto-aim exalted pistols trivializes a large amount of early game content.
