A few more points:
#1 - The scythes aren't that good currently. They have the range of dual swords without their benefits. When the melee rework comes, the entire class will likely either become Heavy Blades, or be made larger to be more like heavy blades. Anyways, those are the ideas that the devs have thrown around about what they are being changed to. The melee rework is slated to be revealed soon, potentially next dev stream.
#2 - The Ether Reaper scythe which you can get from the market provides basically the same performance as the Anku. Basically you trade 5% crit chance and 5 damage for 5% status. Its also slash based vs. the puncture based Anku, so status builds will be better on it.
#3 - If you have access to the Dojo, the best scythe in the game is the Caustacyst for status based damage, or the Hate for crits which you have to get from a Stalker drop (more crit focused).
