Oxylus sentinel - What is is even good for?

So I got me the new Oxylus sentinel and somewhere I cant figure out what it is even good for?
Can it do anyting special that other sentinels cant?

It's considered a hunting companion, the precept mods - as far as I understand - help you in finding items in a 60 metres area around you and increases the Conservation Encounters by 4, I guess that would be 4 more hunts.

The Oxylus as I have seen helps you track and find spots to lure and capture animals in the new Fortuna open world but I notice the weapon the sentinel carries does no damage to any of the enemy factions whatsoever.. I actually love the Oxylus help in Conservation but idk what the point of it's weapon is even for o_O.. it doesn't even help you with the animal captures after it helps you track them, I thougt the weapon was a animal only tranq but it doesn't do anything to animals and it rapid fires at all enemies it sees for some reason though it weapon can't even damage them, I am confused on what Oxylus Sentinel's Multron Rifle does and if anyone knows what it can do with that weapon please help and tell me, thank you
