So what is the point of Warframe?

After 120 hours I am still wondering... Is Warframe just a game about getting new gears?

about new gear/weapon, new warframes, tweaking gear, ranks, grinding. so basically...yes. and ofcourse, fashionframe.

Not so much yet. I know there is a lore, just wondering what the general aim of the game is. I am the type that doesn't like to rush quests.

The "point" of Warframe is aquiring power. A variety of power.

It's about making new weapons, ranking them up, deciding which ones are fun enough to keep, and then modding the heck out of them until they can one shot most enemies in the game.

It's about unlocking new warframes, mastering them and increasing your potential build options.

It's about reaching the point where you can go "hmmm...what kind of badass do I wanna be today? Do I want to be good old classic excalibur with a bow that can cut people in half? Or do I want do be crazy AOE deathsphere Octavia with a shotgun that shoots radiation? Or do I want to be a little nutty and be Volt with a Sniper rifle that can take down anything in a single shot?"

So yeah, that's the point. It's about amassing an armory and deciding what kind of awesome space ninja you want to be.

The fact that starting with Second Dream you start getting some REALLY fantastic answers to the background lore and some truly memorable story beats is just icing on the cake.

And then there's FashionFrame. IE, "How can I make my warframes look as cool/pretty/totally wacky as possible?"

Well, that's fine.. but 120 hours and still not done War Within and later quests, you are missing out on *lots* of game content (gated behind those quests). And storyline. *shrug*

Yes. Warframe is a F2P Grind fest. If you get bored of the grind stop playing for six months and come out when some new cool Warframe is released to peak your interest (Garuda for me).

The aim is what you would expect of a looter game, looting and collecting.
