Whichever one you have a Riven for.
Rubico is better for Eidolons though.

Wrong, both can easily do all of the high level content in the game.

Thats not saying much.

To answer the question, I think that the Rubico will typically be seen as the more meta of the two. Basically, it has an extremely fast damage ramp up with its combo counter taking 1 shot to activate opposed to the 3 of most other sniper rifles. Its a hangover from the time when the weapon had an excessively long reload time, but was kept over when they changed the sniper rifles.

I like the Snipetron Vandal the best of the Sniper Rifles, however its unique selling point was that it had inate punchthrough. With the rework, all of the sniper rifles got this. At present it has 3m of inate punchthrough vs. the 1 m of inate punchthrough of most snipers, but this is overvalued in its stats imo.

But this is a good answer. Except the Lanka is hands down the hardest hitting sniper. Which is why its almost manditory for eidolon hunting. And by manditory I mean speed hunting. I am being a bit misleading as well. Its used due to radiation damage as well as hitting hard.

I personally prefer the snipetron vandal, just because of the fact that I like the corpus scopes more than the rubico. otherwise they are very similar, try them both out

In conclusion, people focuses way too much on eidolon hunting weapon as the standard of good sniper rifle.

Heh, I remember some players complaining why their lanka doesn't do much damage in Plague Star event, and calling the damage cap ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

So when you have a sniper only sortie, is the first gun that you reach for a Lanka? See, that's the problem with the Lanka, its good for Eidolon hunting, but not for most other parts of the game because a Sniper rifle with a charge mechanic is not ideal for what you are typically asked to do. Now when you are asked to dogfight in close quarters with the Grineer where you have about 10 of them shooting at you in all different directions, is the Lanka still the Sniper rifle that you want?

If a weapon deals easily with high level content, its not a bad weapon, ergo its not mastery fodder, especially given that neither of the weapons we are talking about have upgraded versions.

Anyways, don't actually care to continue the conversation, so this is my last word here.

Yes, I use the lanka for all content that requires a sniper rifle. Its that good. All you need to do is learn to lead shots.

No, but sniper rifles are out of place and offer no real benifits to gameplay outside of Eidolon hunting and sortie reqs.

they can be, punchthrough is a wonderful thing. Many of the snipers are viable, just not the lanka...

Snipetron scopes give bonus headshot damage

Rubico scopes give bonus crit damage... being a crit weapon and not needing to hit a headshot for a bonus I pick the Rubico.. love watching the ships on the plains going off like fireworks.

Rubico is my ol' reliable whenever i need to deal big damage. With enough forma and the right build, it can easily get 80k+ on a headshot.

Lanka is fine, just learn to lead shots. Its a nugget of copper in a pile of dung. The rubico would be a nugget of quartz i think,
