what is wrong with Lacera
so recently me and my friend were looking at the stats of clan research weapons trying to see if we want to use any of them. We came upon the lacera and despite it having a measly 2.5 crit chance we were intrued by the whopping 45 percent status chance which then had us confused as to why nobody really talks about it if its all that good. i proceeded to level and mod it and obviously got 99% status very easily. so before i spend too much more time on it, forma and the like, is there something wrong with this weapon? something that really makes that status chance irrelevant? or is this just a diamond in the rough thats never talked about for whatever reason?

It's mainly Electric damage, not really good with some enemies, while Slash is mainly the best stat to run in my opinion if you want things to die fast.

I personally find the stance, Defiled Snapdragon, annoying to use. Until other stance that can make me interested with it appeared, I'm putting it on shelf.

yeah but thats pretty easy to combo into radiation corrosive or magnetic damage. i dont really care for magnetic at all but corrosive and radiation are both useful. not meaning to argue. i guess i just see more use in this weapon than most

There are plenty of other melees that offer high status with more choices than simply Electricity base, and as Archwraith mentioned, the stance may not be everyone's favorite.

It isn't a bad melee weapon, there are just options everywhere and the Lacera is one that's overlooked by the meta and in general is very softspoken.

The thing about the Lacera is that the Mios is far better then it.

While stripping armor is good, you can get enough slash on enemies till they bleed out and die. Viral and Slash is in my opinion more usefull when fighting ton of health enemies, since Viral will half their health and the Slash Proc will soon finish them off.

But yeah, to each their own, find the thing you enjoy playing with. I just don't like Lacera.

it is one onf the best stances in terms of usability, you get INSANE forced procs, think one forced proc ends up with 500% damage - meaning whatever you hit with it will bleed like crazy.

it is not an easy stance to get used to because of "dynamic" range, hitting with blade and whip has differnt range but after a while I ended up loving the stance as it pretty much kills anything.

It is not for everyone but it is damn strong for those who decide to learn to cope with it and Mios is one of the top 5 melee weapons for anyone who has actually done it.

But on topic, Lacera is poop, Mios is just flat out better.

I never denied the stance being strong. I don't like how it works. Same can be said to Cleaving Whirlwind. I don't like how it locks me despite it can dish out stronger amount of damage by its combo, hence I prefer Tempo Royale.

Matter of preferences.

alrighty then well sorry to say that pretty soon mesa will be trash because mesa prime is gonna be better. making the statement "A is bad because B is better" is flawed because the fact of B's superiority doesn't negate any good qualities in A. Let other people enjoy what weapons and frames they want and you enjoy what you want. thats what is great about warframe.

You asked what's wrong with the weapon, you got the answer of "a straight upgrade exists." It's the answer to the question you posed at the start, so you can't reject a flawed logic if it answers the question accurately.

I suppose if you have Defiled Snapdragon, the dual-stat mods to build Viral with, and can live with Blade-Whip style weapons (I can't), it could be pretty practical if you're procing Slash from the stance. And I don't mind elec procs if it means forcing things to shoot at me less.

Use it if you like, nobody sane is going to criticise you for it
Vitamin Ex Dec 11, 2018 @ 5:43pm
It's not a bad weapon, people are just puppets. If one person uses an Atterax, everyone uses an Atterax. If one person uses a Saryn, everyone uses a Saryn. Nobody has the ability to think for themselves anymore and live by having others decide how they should dress and talk. That's the cancer of Warframe.

Good on you if you can think outside the box becasue you'll find that there are MANY weapons in the game that are amazing and not being used.

But sometimes it's just the case that a weapon has a weird drawback that can totally explain why it gets used less. Whip-style weapons feel laggy and inconsistent to me, so I don't like using them. Not even the Atterax for me, personally, since it doesn't feel like I have control over it like a sword.

you didn't read what i said. an upgrade is not directly correlated to making a flaw in the original. The only thing that happened is that a new, better form was released and as Vitamin Ex said "People are puppets" and also many people use what is meta without regard to what is fun. The answer to my question is thusly "the lacera is not bad at all, but it is ignored in favor of other weapons that are percieved as superior." One could debate this fact all day but judging the warframe community from it's history we can pretty accurately assume it's true. In conclusion - yes i can reject a flawed logic because it is just a flawed version of an already existing answer.
