If it makes you feel better, you can still use Djinn to get a chance with spare parts, as for now you gotta stick to average resource farming instead of suicide.

I just wanted to mention that there was a thread last week or so asking what the best farming method for Cells was, and the replies were all like "♥♥♥" and to be honest, we already kill ourselves farming, so literally booting up a game where I kill myself over and over just seems dark and totally f***ed up. That's why I never did it.

Methinks that thread got someone's attention and the change was made after realizing that players would rather kill themselves repeatedly than equip a few mods and a Warframe that can smash containers in a large area(like my boy Limbo)

Also, why wouldn't you scavenge tiles completely for the resources you want? The chance of Ayatan sculptures or a rare resource cache + Forma just isn't worth the effort?

There’s a companion mod called spare parts, where upon death there’s a chance for it to drop a rare resource. So people would go in with a max group, all having that mod equipped on their companion, and bring a self damaging weapon like a Zarr or Lenz and kept killing themselves and respawning at least 4 times each at spawn, and you could acquire these rare resources fairly quickly using this method. It’s fixed now.

They fixed an exploit people discovered that abused a niche mechanic.

It was never intended that joining a squad to do nothing but sit at extraction killing yourselves would be the best method of obtaining rare resources.

The spare parts farm method was clearly in need of a fix. I'm just surprised it took them as long as it did.

Wow, and here I thought Spare Parts was about enemy deaths......never realized and never knew about this. Kind of wish I did. Although, the rare stuff is easy enough to acquire if you know how.
