Why do people chicken out after 10 waves?
The game isn't even that hard and they'll probably just go do the same mission again anyways so why leave at 10? This really annoys me because I'm the type of person who likes to do at least 20 waves and actually get something from the fissure mission.

20 rounds don't take 3 hours, its like 40 minutes to 50.
I'm sorry but where exactly did you see me writing that it takes 3 hours? I'm saying that no one is interested in long matches.
Since DE changed prime parts farming from void to fissures defence mode isn't that great in terms of farm. Its easier and faster to do at 5-10 capture/resque missions in time it takes to complete 10 waves of def.
"stay in the match for more than twenty minutes if its not a premade group just for 3-4 hours long defence/survival." that was your reply saying 3-4 hours. Whatever many waves people want to do is on them, I got to 15 20 only if I wanna get rid of a ton of relics. usually 10 or 15 is where I stop.

if it's hydron, people usually have affinity boosters and most of their weapons will be maxed by w10

because they are farming particular relics like in jupiter io defense, great spot for farming meso until wave 10
I mean in fissure missions
Probably because they don't see people bringing radiants to open up or realize that they really don't feel like doing 25 waves with this same group. But can also be that one person dips out so everyone else does.

When doing defense, the number of people in the group relates to how many enemies are present, but not the length of time it takes to complete a round. So when you lose players it ends up taking roughly the same amount of time, but with fewer enemies so energy dependent frames tend to have a harder time keeping up their killing rate or lone enemies start getting stuck more often with only 3 people sprinting around to find them.

But also, it's because people are trying to farm a particular relic group and don't care about the exceptional reward at wave 25.

Otherwise, just don't do endless relics in public if you are wanting long sessions.

If we're talking about missions like Hydron, then it's likely because enemies start dying slower and people start struggling more at higher waves (a lot of people take low lvl and unforma'd gear in there to rank up quickly, so it starts becoming 'work' to kill enemies fast). It's just more efficient to just start again at wave 1.

Also when more people leave, and people are just there to lvl their gear up, I wouldnt expect they'd want to stick around to be a burden.

I guess I should be more clear next time. No one is interested in long runs if it's not a premade group specifically for it.

I personally never run more than 10 waves of defence as it doesn't have much sense to do more.

I can understand that, it depends on my mood and rotations, and if I have an irl friend on discord but if everyone leaves at round ten it does not bother me, I just que up again you find matches in literally 5 seconds.

Because they are boring and 10 waves are enough

I love threads like these that make the assumption of why people do what they do.
Here’s a list of several reasons people could be quitting after 10 waves that have nothing to do with being scared-oh sorry-CHICKEN.
1. On break from work-I had to leave an endless mission after only 10 waves because I had to go back to work cause my lunch break was ending.
2. You suck at the game or at the very least aren’t nearly as good as you think you are and people don’t wanna carry you any more-they’d rather play with someone useful.
3. People need to go to bed cause they have jobs.
4. Literally thousands and thousands of things in life that could come up out of nowhere that are more important than any video game: death of a loved one, accident or injury, someone blew a tire and needs help out on the road.

Point is-there are literally thousands of reasons why someone might quit at 10 waves. Think before you make threads like this-not everything is as simple as you wanna make it out to be. And you certainly don’t understand why people behave the way they do

I'm usually the one carrying the team as I tend to get the most kills so It's annoying when people leave at 5 or 10 when it's not taking that long or is difficult. you should think before making comments like this. you just assume someone sucks at the game because they like doing more than 5 or 10 waves? that doesn't make any sense.

I never assumed anything other than that you would focus on the possible example that you might be bad at the game. I listed several other reasons but I knew you’d only focus on that one and somehow manage to think I was insinuating you’re bad at the game.
I think no such thing-I don’t know you. Why do you think I listed several examples? I specifically did it so you wouldn’t think I was making assumptions about you. You even had to remove 3 others from my comment in order to make your quote-why? Just why? That doesn’t make any sense.

I usually go for 15-20 waves, just to get some reward from each rotation. If I leave after 10 rounds, I will only ever get the A-rotation rewards.

If it is only for affinity/credits, I can see why they might not want to stay around, but I just consider that inefficient(IMO, mobile defense is better for that kind of thing).
Welp, more rewards for me.

Even tho I don't agree with the OP, the way you said everything came off passive agressive in my opinion.

The fact that you call it ''chicken out'' just shows what kind of a toxic person you really are.
WZ 17 ENE 2019 a las 10:38
- levelling of the weapon / frame / etc is done
- gtg do something else, in game or irl
- bored after 10 waves
- no more relics (no really, sometimes this happens)
- don't like the team for some reason
- etc etc
