Ban for buying Platinum?

Sorry if this is a dumb question to ask, but no I'm not talking about trading. I'm talking about buying with real money.

I have read the game's reviews on where some people claim they got their accounts banned for spending money in-game. I'm considering on buying with PayPal, but I wanna know if this is actually true or not.

if you buy it direct from DE, either via their site or through Steam, I don't see why they'd ban you for it.

Now, if you buy it off some other site, then I don't know.

There's no way I'd buy from other unknown sites since they could be scammy or risky.

Do they even have anything to back up their claims? I have bought platinum lots of times but I'm not banned.

Only scenario I can think of is if they bought it then did a chargeback, that'll get ya banned.

Exactly. It'll add negative amount of platinum to u and u'll have to buy this amount to unlock account.
Also buying from sites other than the official DE one and steam will also be an almost guaranteed ban.

Or, they got banned because they clearly did something to get banned for and then decided the only way they could "punish" DE would be to write up a negative review that they hope will both chase away new players and keep some people from buying plat.

There is no reason you would be banned for buying platinum through the official purchase methods.

In any event, if you do get a ban, you can always send a support ticket to have them review it. If your ban was not justified it'll be lifted.

The issue is how said plat is obtained, if you buy it straight from the website, no VPNs, no handling the account to a russian, no exploits then it will remain in your account.

If on the other hand you buy it from 3rd party websites (including them handling to you said plat via trading), someone buys them for you, you exploit and use a vpn to buy it cheaper, you use "carding" (aka using stolen credit cards) to make the transaction, use several accounts to get a 75% discount and then transfer the plat to the main account then it's at a serious risk of being removed.

If it's removed you have to buy again (if not banned for exploiting), but if you have spended said plat already in goodies, then when it's removed you enter a negative plat balance and the account is automatically banned.

Always buy from the warframe website, don't exploit or cheat the system in ANYWAY, because once your caught, you're done for.

I have personally made multiple purchases and can tell you that I have not been banned. I think this might be due to different reasons or possibly even purchasing through scam/fake sites. I'd reccemend to use your steam wallet if you are that concerned, but I honestly do not believe these claims.

There's zero chance a ban will occur for buying plat through the sole legitimate channel, which is through DE using steam wallet (I only play via steam, not sure if there's another way for DE to get the money). *Clearly* if you end up with plat in your wallet and there's no paper trail (no in-game trade with chat history established through general chat means, like wtb/wts public chat messaages, etc., and no steam transaction) then clearly you've bought it through some illicit means. It's not that difficult: buy it through DE or obtain it through legit in-game trades. Don't make arrangements outside the game; EVER.

There is an option to also pay via PayPal, so I should be fine because it still counts as buying through their official site.

Please don't spread false/incomplete information.

The only reason you could have problems in that scenario is if DE discovers that you were using multiple accounts in order to get more discounts.
