What happens to leechers?
Are you able to get banned for leeching? I know that one can record it and send in as a "leeching report". But did anyone ever hear of people getting banned for leeching? And I don't mean leeching in a way of having a macro outplay the afk system. I mean like, people that go mining on ov or poe while they are on a bounty mission.

Here's the message a mass-reported leecher gets:

This only works when people report of course. Most don't because they are unaware how to do so (submit a ticket though the zen helpdesk page of WF, there's even a specific "report AFK/leecher" category) or they don't do it because they can't be bothered.

One report does nothing, it takes multiple reports over a period of time by many people with screenshots proof to establish a pattern and remove any shadow of doubt, so nobody can get falsely warned/banned this way.

They get shot in the head. It's a brutal process but it's what they deserve.

Does people not know they can make a squad if you want stuff done faster ?

Nah, Public all day everyday(for the not so smart people).

I do missions on fortuna and cetus public so folks who actually struggle with the hardest missions, yet they try to do it have a chance. my nova can survive just fine (tho from time to time i get some bs stagger lock and die a few times, but i haven't failed a bounty yet) and get around the map incredibly fast, my guns destroy anything quick enough. the only place where more folks actually speed up the objective time is the one where you have to collect the crates in fortuna, everywhere else, its up to you to kill stuff as fast as possible, or wait the objective timer to be done. overall i'm slower on public than in solo because of the downtime between two bounties while my squadmmates decide what to do. so if a leecher jumps in i pay no attention to him, let him do his stuff, as he doesn't hinder me in the slightest. if you are not capable of doing a mission solo, you shouldn't be trying to make it in a pub group either, you will have better luck actually doing those mission if you recruit a team in chat. i mean you dont expect folks to do 20+min missions on pub either, why do expect them to be able/willing to do the hardest bounties either. crew up if you dont like randos. 60% of the time, works every time.

Do you really think people support an idea only when it favors them?

I have not the most single issue with having leechers as teammates because i like to help players and having leechers/afk won't affect my game experience at all.

Well, to be honest the only thing a leecher/afk teammate could do is making a mission more entertain because it will be slightly harder/interesting.

It's a matter of attitude and not being a selfish person.

it is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience ot meet those guys, it is not that common but yesterday I had 3 cases in few hours. Surely a spike but meh feeling made me alt-F4 and I was damn happy when I entered the game becaus eI have got my 120Hz monitor and game looks amazing...

just a subjective tory tho, I do not meet leeches often but they are out there and it should be addressed to a greather level imo, tho I guess leeches will insult me and tell me that should not be done with bunch of "constructive criticism" ranging from insults to self projections or in special cases both....

Still had about 12-15 cases of that so far since Fortuna was releaed.

Every time I've ment one of those dudes they're always hostile when you ask them to do the objective.
exactly the same experience as mine, maximum toxicity, they report people when they ask them to actually play, guy reported everyone for harassment because he spend entire T5 bounty on K-Drvie far away and we were harassing him with messages to join (everyone used squad chat)....

I find this a problem but you will get same people come here and bash the topic hoping they can continue their scum-like approach to the game.

I am hoping something will be done as from my personal experience, and I stream this game 6-8 hours per day (at least I try to even when no one is watching), it has increased by A LOT since how it was when Plains of Eidolon dropped.

Next open world it will be just more and more, and more toxic pricks will come here to say it is okay and use a lot of offensive adjectives to explain to OP that he should shut up and play alone.

I never mentioned that I was leeching if you mean with "bash the topic" to ask if its banable...

To OP:

Yes, i sometimes get a notification from the player himself either ingame chat or via PM on the forums, sometimes they appologise, sometimes they flip the table
I also recognized one player once in the forums (his username was unusual), we were discussing gameplay regarding ember getting all the kills and it being unfair for others. I stated that some players shouldn't be commeting on gameplay because when given the opportunity to play without ember, they do not play at all, so having ember or not didn't matter, i even asked him how things went with him, the guy simply flipped the table, meaning he did get a warn for the behavior he showed.

I never said you said that, I just said level of toxicity on these topics ever since they started emerging, that is ever since Plains of Eidolon was released, it went up quite significantly.

What I said is that people who tell you to play solo matchmaker instead because "if you need public mm then you are leeching" are toxic bullies who want these topics closed because they want to continue doing nothing and gaining stauff with it.
That was my take on all those comments who say they may get reported by mistake... right, already looking for excuses.....

recently had the same topic and it was full of toxicity, hope this goes better or at least lives more so devs start thinking more serious about implementing easier ways to report this kind of offense because as is it is hard and frustrating.
