Mod Color In Game
When they drop during the mission the color reflects the mod you actually get, so a yellow mod on the ground is a gold mod, a blue mod on the ground is a silver mod, and a red mod is a bronze. Does this hold for the acolytes? I just watched one drop a red mod and knew that the final drop would be bronze. If this is the case, then it is just best to abort once you see the mod color (if you happen to see it). Any thoughts?

No, all unidentified items look red, all the mods dropped by acolytes are inidentified until end of mission.

Funny because I just put it to the test and a blue colored mod came out of Torment, and sure enough at the end it was Silver Blood Rush. I also called it to my team, told them it would be silver right after the drop.

Must be a bug since all the acolytes drops are glowing red.

Yeah unidentified mods like that should always spawn red. Same on the Index or Rathuum. If it doesn't, it's just a little bug. The rarity is not shown by the pick up when it comes to unidentified mods.

The mods in the Index are already identified though, Rathumm doesn't have mods but Khela does.

Rathuum drops the same mods as Kela but you're right about the Index already identifying them. They show up red regardless.

Wait what the hell, I never noticed they changed. Rewards tables giving stance mods, Endo, Credits, and Forma now? That's gross as ♥♥♥♥.

Rathumm drops them too? Haven't get anyone from the exevutioners.

Sorry, I'm a bit outdated there. Rathuum did drop those mods, then they decided to make them exclusive Kela drops, I guess. I never realized that happened.

I get it, you were referring to the event right?

The event and the full release of Rathuum for a while. They changed it at some point apparently. Wiki's listed drop tables say "Up to date as of Hotfix 24.2.7" but it doesn't mention when this change happened.

That or I'm going crazy and losing chunks in my memory. Could have sworn I didn't do much Kela compared to Rathuum and still got plenty of mods out of it.
Irrelevant to the thread though, ignore me.

You are mistaken on the color and made a lucky guess. I thought this may the case as well, and on a run was disappointed when the drop was clearly blue (to my eyes) but at the end it was the gold mod for that acolyte. Pretty much the opposite experience you describe.

I've also seen similar things in other games where people mistakenly think they saw something of a color that was not correct. I'm sure you realize how many optical illusions which demonstrate the flaws in human vision.

If the color was right and detailed what it was, people would quit runs that it wasn't the gold mod. There would be little point to finishing for some people who are trying to get only the gold mod. And DE knows this and wouldn't make it so easy to know. It would ruin the experience for other people.

You are correct. A red mod fell and I predicted bronze and it was silver! And now I have egg all over my face!

They don't drop *only* their own mods. They can drop other things at the same time.
