Reviving vs Dying
I have seen a few posts recently about this and wanted to share my thoughts and see what other's are.

Will I rev you? Depends.
Will you rev me? Depends.
Will I rev myself? Depends.
Will I let you die? Depends.

This has nothing to do with toxicity or being a toxic player. It has to do with efficiency.

If we are in a mission that it's direct objective is affinity (ESO, SO), then I will rev you in hopes that you won't bail on the team at next zone.
but
If we are not in a mission that is objectively dependent on affinity, I probably will not rev you.

I think ppl should know the difference of when they should rev themselves vs when to stay on the ground wasting your teams time and a chance to possibly fail the mission.
You get multiple lives, and the only thing you lose from dying is affinity.
So by that measure, if you are not farming affinity and you choose to stay down waiting on a squad member to pick you up; you are indeed hindering the entire team.
Swallow your pride and rev yourself. Don't sit there like a wounded duck waiting for some savior to rev you.. you are most likely costing the team.

I'm not a total jerk, and do rev teammates all the time (especially if they go down within close prox to me). But as I'm reviving you , I am still watching the life support dwindle away.
However, if we are on a survival and you go down 500m away... you can just stay down. You should have been with the group and I will not run back the whole map to rev you.

So when you see me or another player go down and we rev ourselves instantly, don't think that we are "too good" to be picked up.. we are in fact reving ourselves for the benifit of the team, not our pride.

I only have an issue with this on survivals, that why I always start by saying "stay close to the group" if even after that they went on their own and get down, well Im not even bothering, same apply on Hydron when I see people without redirection or vitality, if they die to bad. some people just don't have gamer etiquette.

In jobs like Onslaught or Hydron where most people go to xp farm I tend to watch out more and revive more oftten.

But I'd say in normal missions I become a little "mission myopic" and 80% of the time I won't even notice someone went down. I even play with friends and if I see they die I will normally say sorry I didn't notice they were down.

That said I have 2000+ revives, so I try to get people up when I can and it is safe.

But the objective comes first.

This is why I made the post, getting very close to 2k revives myself.
Thanks for input.

Golden Rule: If you can revive your allies, revive them.

If they are too far away, in the middle of danger that would get you killed, etc, then you can't. Fair enough. But if you can revive them, revive them.

Sometimes it will be required for the downed person to Revive themself to stop some sort of mission fail type event from happening (Spy Vault alert, Rescue targeted downed, etc) or if they have some sort of critical role in a squad (Trinity in an Tridolon hunt), but these are special cases.

If you're the sort of dude who doesn't revive teammates right next to you when you could because 'it's faster to revive yourself', then you should be playing Solo. Warframe is a co-op game. Help your teammates.

I rev all the time,
but that doesn't change the fact that reving yourself is the fastest method to getting back into the action.

When doing arbitration defenses... ppl should rev themselves. It only takes a second to get the objective killed by not paying attention where it should be payed.

Likewise, at 50 drills on excavation, it only takes a split second for enemy to wipe an unprotected drill.
What I dont understand is how a team mate can get to 50 drills, and then go down and sit there for 10+ seconds waiting for someone to rev them when they have all their lives intact.
Sometimes it just seems more repectful to you squad to rev yourself.
This wasnt really so much on "Should I revive someone?"
It was more on.... "How the eff are you gonna stay down waiting for team failure??"

I think it's really common courtesy to revive allies when you see them, it's a coop game after all. Even if I can revive myself after going down, I appreciate the supportive gesture of squad players who revive me. This general supportive attitude makes Warframe more enjoyable for me, so I try to return the favor to other players as often as I can.

The few exceptions I make:
- If the mission's goal was in danger if I took the couple of seconds to revive a teammate
- If the mission is so challenging that I am in very serious danger of dying while reviving, myself
- If a teammate very, very often dies at the exact same spot for no obvious reason - only happened once in Ceres Defense when a teammate kept running into the electrified rails again and again. Revived him once, twice, then I gave up. Another teammate revived him three times more, but he kept running into the rails.

Unless I miss something, wasn't during arbitration, down = death?
