The point is the Vaykor have innate syndicate proc and have better stats making it a more suitable weapon to slot a Riven into.

Slap Blunderbuss and Primed Ravage on your Vaykor Hek and it'll win in DPS. The damage numbers will be smaller on the equipment screen, but don't underestimate +15% crit chance, doubled magazine, and higher rate of fire.

With absolutely maxed mods Vaykor Hek is better than Hek with Scattered Justice.

the doubled mag alone quietly ups your DPS considerably. Less time reloading, moar time shooting, it adds up.

Yeah, even if the regular does more damage (which as the others have said, it may not), the Vaykor's double mag is really nice, especially for clearing trash mobs. It has a longer range and higher fire rate, the only thing worse is an extra quarter of a second of reload, so its just a higher QOL weapon than the Hek, regardless of damage.

V. Hek is a crit shotty. Granted, the Hek with Scattered Justice is better damage wise until you have at least R8 Primed Ravage on V. Hek.
