I was attacked by my own specter?

So, I wanted to do some farming in the abyss. I went to Teshub -- exterminate/20th level or so.

I decided to go solo so I could farm without annoying people.
I saw there was a "nightmare/no shields" mission active. SO I took Inaros, since he has no shields anyway.

I go in and get mobbed. I mean, I must've killed 20 or more before I even left the first map square. So I decide to bring in a specter. And my specter kills me.

I think ... noooooo. Can't be.

So I bring in another. This one also tries to kill me. I try to attack it. I can't. I can't target it. And Ignis' AOE attack isn't doing any damage.

I try to "devour" it and I *can* do that.

I've never been attacked by my own specter before, even in the abyss. Is this something new? OR did I just never run into it?

And, if it attacks, why can't I target it?

It's a nightmare mission thing - specters will be considered enemies in those missions as well. I can't help you with the targeting thing, but yeah - don't pull out specters on nightmare mode missions.

THe funny part is that, if he had been in my group, he'd have flamed me for standing around opening lockers while he was getting attacked.

Specters will attack you in nightmare missions, however you should be able to kill it, just becareful cause if you give them something like a tigris prime they will demolish you.
