Obviously we cannot talk about balancing of it, Scott said that scaling melee will be there, that was one of our concerns if they were to remove it and after him saying that I am at ease - rest is balancing which means if scaling does not turn out as good they can buff it or nerf it if it is op. Which is not a biggie, tho whiners will whine strng when it get released....
Overall think idea of new melee is just to make it more intuitive - not to buff it or nerf it compared to the output we have now.
I like that damage per hit will be buffed so once you lose combo in lvl 100 envoirment your melee does not turn into toothpick. That is a bad thing.
I am very curious to hear their ideas on how will they make melee scale as if they implement what they've shown, and thing they talked about like kinda range mode from God of War, power attacks will already deal like 150-500% damage (likely depending on combo), that rage mode is likely to have it's own buffs similar ot Valkyr's Warcry - with rough calculations that is about the damage as we do now, especially if you take into account that melee will deal more damage per hit which should be something around values of 2.5-3x combo(?).
So only scaling that can be done is Crit-wise with Blood Rush, I have no right idea that could apply to it cause you spend your combo points.
Maybe link Blood Rush crit boost to how many combo points you spend over time, that time being in combo mods and drastically increased, like how many you spent in last minute.
that way if you kill a lot you will be able to maintain those red crits, once you slow down Blood Rush will go down a bit.
Makes sense to me but bet they have better ideas for it.
So yeah, very optimistic about it and can't wait to have it in the game.
even took a screenshot!... oh damn the text must be part of the UI and was removed... as well as the 3 rivens I unlocked at the same time... Oh well...
