Provide your proof that the awards are rigged.
I mean, I really like WF, and think that it is one of the best F2P games available, but neither is it GOTY material (especially as the new vote rules restrict GOTY to recent releases), nor does it qualify for "Labour of Love" as the development and maintance of the game is barly a question of "supporting your beloved game" rather then "keep the money-printer running".
As someone already mentioned, "Labour of Love" is more suited for some indie dev supporting and adding to their game, come what may.
That's exactly why i gave the Labour of Love to Oriental Empires and not to Warframe.
Their Job in this game is good, but not as good (with deep content) as some Indie games out there.
This is not the point. The point is that a game need to have more content than fillers to be considered Game of the Year or Labour of Love.
Like i said, Labour of Love => Indie developers that are bringing content to their games for years now - most of the time, programing alone or with a team of students. (Do you know how much work and time is needed to creat a game and a engine from zero? Warframe engine is very good too! Point to them. But...)
Game of the Year is something higher => Story, gameplay, graphics, meaning, etc
Warframe is good. But it lacks meaning and organization in some aspects, and even though they're working in this game for years now, they're not a small company anymore. They can't compete anymore with small companies that are doing greater job with their Indie games. That's not their category anymore.
Gasp, one of the most popular and top played games on Steam was voted for an award by the players? How exactly is that "proof" that the awards are rigged kiddo?
That's his point. By saying GTA is a top played game in Steam - means that lots of players will vote in GTA, thus, GTA will win.
Same with what someone said about Destiny 2.
Say what you want about the gameplay, but in terms of looks that's something Bungie does incredibly well.
When multiple people enjoy something, it becomes popular. You're saying that if people enjoy a game on Steam and it becomes popular that it's unfair if it receives an award. That's what you call "rigged." Riiiiight...so uhh...do you want the game with the least amount of votes to win? Do you want someone to decide which game should really win, as long as it's the game that you want to win? Because, it seems like those are things that would qualify as rigged.
What general consensus are you referring to? You complaining on the forums? Is that a "general consensus?" Please provide your statistical data for this "general consensus" that you claim. It was reported earlier this year that GTA V has sold nearly 110 million copies, so surely you must have some hard data representative of the roughly 110 million players/owners. Please provide it.
I didn't said that my friend. You are implying a lot of things that i never said, like If i were defending those ideas blindly. What?
The thing is that on a market and a award to be fair enough, all games would need to have equal propaganda. This is impossible though, because we know who's in charge of the industry.
Why do you think Death Stranding is probably going to win the Game of the Year award?
This is a industry, and like all indutries, propaganda and marketing rules leads the way.
It doesn't mean, though, that the public will be happy with the decisions, but the mass is easily controlled by what they say it's or it's not true.
^- This.
Okay, let's reevaluate then. In response to chatbot's claims about the voting being rigged and GTA winning labor of love as proof of that somehow, you said his point was "By saying GTA is a top played game in Steam - means that lots of players will vote in GTA, thus, GTA will win."
So you appear to be saying that if players like a game, making it popular, that somehow means the voting is rigged and unfair. Maybe you could clarify what you meant there.
