Hull is your ship's.. well, hull.The body.
Slingshot is the archwing launcher you have at the most upper side of your ship.
Forward artillery is the big-ass laser you should use to destroy crewship if boarding is not an option, accessed with enough of gunnery and behind the navigation console.
Someone asking for a good weapon choice in a poorly balanced game mode doesn't make them a meta slave.
id like to know other people opinion about other weapon type they use, i use carcinnox because 1 hit dead
and theres not much people playing railjack, always playing alone in saturn node
like absolutely not possible playing railjack alone
2. Archwing catapult. Launches you into enemies or just directions, while giving invulnerability phase. If you hit crewship with it, you automatically board it. At the back of the very top of the reactor chamber.
3. RJ health.
4. Behind your pilot sit. BFG. Completely useless in Veil though, and quite expencive to maintain.
5. There's no optimal build that's reasonably obtainable, due to extreme RNG bloat of RJ gear. You might need to focus on farming more static things, like Hyperstrike and Void hole. Thouh you won't get those for a very long time either.
Guess my veil farming alone was imaginary then.
And i'm sure you can find people to do veil in the recruitment chat, since.. well.Void hole.

5. yeah i get used it, when i know the RNG 0,1,4,7. maybe a good avionic, my opinion is bulkhead,conic nozle,secton density, i think rj shield mod is useless tho
so many work to do if i go solo, repair my railjack, kill some intruder, kill some plane, get in to crewship, and do all the objective

4. in cockpit behind starchart console there is entrance to forward artillery; a big laser which is meant to whop crewships at gunner level 5, mind you it takes to load and shoot, its restricted and dependant on ships facing direction
5. Armaments:
main - cryophon mk3 house (if zetki use polar coil (use zetki avionics if you can afford drain, lavan is good too))
side - cryophon/carcinnox mk3 house (same as above)
ordnance - tycho seeker mk3
Components:
shield - zetki mk3, aim for long recharge cooldown, min. shield cap and extra damage on depleted shield
reactor - vidar mk3, aim for max avionics
engine - vidar mk3
Avionics:
bulkhead - best zetki but vidar is good too
hull weave - same as above
hyperstrike - zetki must
polar coil - best zetki, lavan good too
predator, section density - as above, both can be used
conic nozzle, ion burn - lavan best
last stand and forward artillery can be used but only in specialized builds with communicative squad
3. Flux to RJ is what energy is to warframes. You activate combat abilities with it. It's replenished in the forge.

1) Subjective; If you are not sure, the general public seems to say Cryophon (albeit i don't see why yet). Personally, i play too many flight games so high rate of fire pilot weapons are my preferred means IE [Lavan] Carcinnox Mk III. For waist gunners, I have [Lavan] Apoc Mk III's. Again I hear a lot about cryophon but i don't see the appeal/reasoning. Ordinance for me is the Tycho Seeker Mk III's.

5) For now, just rack up as much hull and armor as possible while keeping an eye out for any good reactors, specifically Vidar. I have a decent Lavan Mk III but I am planning on replacing it with a Vidar MK III when the stars align. Zetki Bulkhead and Zetki Hullweave are pretty much two you should look into getting first (hullweave being able to be purchased from the zetki avionics bundle on from the market for 65p). For battle Avionics, i have yet to get a 1 for my ship, but my 2 is particle ram, and 3 is void hole. So far those have done wonders for me. Altogether, i can clear a veil mission in under 10 minutes average depending on team mates competence/rate the game wants to spawn enemies in.
Side Notes:
-Currently, my rank is 5-9-7-5 for intrinsic skills. Get tact. 4 by bare minimum, It'll make your like a lot easier in most regards. After that go for whatever you want.
-Right now, don't worry to much about railjack since its long overdue for hotfixes and patches. Nothing says fun like playing a mission for a 2% drop chance on a reactor with an RNG stat affixed to it.
