Specter Sits down...?

So, doing defense missions to level up warframes I don't particularly use, I usually just spawn a Specter, and go away while it does all the work, because... That's what they're used for right?

I've noticed while leveling a couple of Warframes in the past few days, my Specter will randomly sit down, even if there's a horde of enemies incoming, and until I shoot something, or tell it to follow, or hold position, it won't do anything, but sit down, and take damage.

I was not aware specter's could learn to go AFK.

If you are inactive, automatic fighters stop fighting for you.

Put some effort into it. Specters are meant as fire support, not slaves to do your bidding.

The AI learns through players. Your specters became idlers as well

This is done intentionally, specifically to prevent the exact thing you're trying to do. Specters are designed to assist you with some extra firepower, not allow you to idle and let the mission complete itself. Full AFK farming is something the developers actively try to prevent whenever possible.

They already do that if you spawn them in Nightmare missions.

You can be semi-AKF if you can still perform some useful function. For example, if you want to level weapons or amps, use Nekros in a farming squad. Your most valuable contribution is merely existing. You could try Khora or Hydroid but then you have to press a button every 40 seconds or so, plus Khora tends to do a lot of passive killing and doesn't absorb that Affinity into her weapons.

Or you can just go to Hydron like everyone else and level your stuff quickly and easily there. If you're AFK don't expect to get revived, though.
