Sarpa + shattering impact on eidolons
Does that still work?
I am seeing people in videos do that. Take away nearly all the armor.

I can see this + dead eye being way more effective than taking 3 corrosive auras if it works out (surprise surprise, if it does work, people wouldn't know).

So, does anyone know? :D

I'm about to go test it anyway.

The idea is take away all the armor and go electric damage (same number + dead eye) vs the robotic armor that remains.

Or... take away like 80% of the armor and still use radiation damage... Still not sure which one I'll pick.

But taking corrosive when you can literally get 3 times that benefit from just a sarpa? nah.

It still works and is better than running corrosive rad.

Tested.

:) 10k electric dmg into no armor or 9k rad damage where you still get 25% of it taken away.

That's my lanka numbers.

That's on solo.

On 4 man this allows the team to all run dead eye and get ♥♥♥♥ loads more damage, while still stripping all armor.

It can work, but there are some messy bits here and there. It's probably still better to NOT full armor strip, and instead try to fall the tiniest amount short of full that you can (33 hits; not an even number of the bursts) and continue using radiation. But if you lose track or cross that line, you're not going to be nearly as well off.

The other side is that in hypothetical well set-up organized squads with weapons geared for the task... You really probably do not NEED a whole bunch of dead eye auras to one shot the limbs already. When I was doing teralysts solo as volt, so no chroma buff or whatever, it still only took me two shots and about a second to blow a teralyst limb up.

edit: although FOR hypothetical solos, it's definitely a lot more helpful to go with shattering impact than trying to use a singular corrosive projection

Well you may not need it, but it makes things easier. Since the aura slot or the rifle damage doesn't actually influence the operator and the damage to shields in any way.
You also have to take into consideration the fact that many players don't have their Eidolon-hunting frames forma'd in a way to be able to fit auras with a V polarity. - polarities are a lot more common, thanks to how meta Corrosive Projection has been for so long throughout the game. Most newly released frames these days even start out with a - polarity in the aura slot.

The idea is to not strip the armor. You can lower it enough to where it doesn't have any meaningful reduction in damage from other attacks, but you still get the damage bonus from radiation.

You should mention if you are using a riven or not.

Polarity doesn't matter all that much. Drop a mod slot and you can change it. Also, 15 waves of hydron and 1 forma to change a frame that you are going to use for the rest of time for eidolon hunts, isn't all that inaccessible.

You can do that too I suppose.

I'm not. Still 2 hitting limbs tho.

It's a bit inaccessible if it's a frame you'd normally want a different polarity on and DON'T exclusively use to grind your face against the game's worst and least interesting content. Especially since, again, I feel like dead eye is overkill if you're organizing. And that's not just overkill as in "going too far", it's potentially overkill as in "literally no benefit", because a one shot isn't going to take any less shots no matter how many damage bonuses you add.

edit: but, regardless, you and your groups can do whatever works for ya

At the end of the day this is just an alternative. When I can be bothered I will actually do the math and then come back to this thread and update it. For now let's just say it's very similar. Just, brings in another mechanic to play with.

And this content, is the only remotely challenging (to solo 3+ times a night) content in the game. So I wouldn't agree that it's the least interesting.

I've been trying this with redeemer and not having any luck making it work. Is there some trick beyond just hitting/shooting?
And yes its modded. I tested in simulation and it stripped grineer armour.
Nemund Sep 1, 2018 @ 1:37am
Ah that will be why. I try to never host because geography is not my friend for hosting.
Laura Sep 1, 2018 @ 9:05am
You shoot the eidolon anywhere on the body at any point in the fight.

You then look at the limbs hp color once it is exposed. If it's red it worked. If it's still orange it didn't, in which case you just use the sarpa like 2-3 more times on him until it turns red.

The host will see the color change. But the damage buff still applies to everyone in the session. Tested. :)
