New player, gave Warframe a try... But i just cant...

So lets start, I install the game, play for 8 hrs or so and say to myself hey im really enjoying this. Then a mission tells me to find a egg and put it in the incubator. So I do the mission and collect the egg. Sounds all fine and dandy right... Then the mission tells me to open the market and buy a INCUBATOR POWER CORE BLUEPRINT for 50K blue essence or what ever that blue currency is called. OR I can buy it for 75 platinum (MICROTRANSACTION) Im like oh ok... here is some pay to win elements here. I ignore it and deside to buy the blueprint for 50K essence. Then it tells me to craft the power core. For lets see 100K + MATS + 8 hrs wait time OR 100 PLATINUM. I quickly uninstalled the game and refuse to even touch it again. I dont understand how this game has people still playing it. It feels like a web based / mobile freemium game with full of pay to win pay to speed up clash of clans microtransactions.

At best he convinced people that have like 0 seconds to 3 hours in this game but other than that he just wants to start fire and watch the planet burn. And at this point i find it kinda amussing because of how many people on every forum fell for things like this. Then the fire spreads, the thread gets bigger and bigger after that war starts. Motherf**kers start using words as weapons, brain cells are lost but at what cost... and then they finally realize its a joke and move on.

Just farm the resources yourself. Do a couple dark sector missions and you'll have the money you need. If you enjoy the gameplay enough that this grind fails to become boring before you're done, the game is for you. If you get sick of it before you're got the credits together, then it isn't.

I never played Clash of Clans, but I did play GTAO. They had people buying currency and spending it on public lobby pvp in the vain hope of making a profit. If things didn't go well, you lost the currency you paid for. It was a scam.

Warframe has nothing like this. The best items come from relics you can only open with gameplay, and premium prime packs that are released months apart. Even these primed items are barely better than other versions. The closest thing to buying power is storage slots, but the infinitely storable mods are far more important than any individual frame or weapon. I supposed you could count forma and orokin catalysts and reactors, but these can acquired regularly in-game.

The way Warframe works is to give you a fun, engaging game that will suck down as much time as you care to give it, and sell you cosmetic bits and color palettes. If you want, you can just buy stuff straight off the shelf with cash instead. DE would also like you to subscribe to their streams. In a market where lots of freemium developers are trying to get rich hunting as many whales as they can before they're all gone, DE seems content with sustainable fishing. Pickup ten or so bucks every couple of months. Toss out the occasional half-off platinum coupon. Hand out goodies to players who watch their streams.

I'm not saying Warframe is made by angels. I'm just saying it's made by people who seem to primarily be concerned with developing and selling this video game as a business for the foreseeable future. That's more than you can say for a lot of others.

The only problem this community has is how everyone tries to be helpful but so much helpful it blinds them and they continue to help even someone who is just jocking. But these same people also help build the community because those actual new players who dont troll on forums and actually want to play the game have no idea how it works because there really isnt any tutorial and they need someone to get explanation.

I completely agree that people can like what they like but they shouldn't come to the forums and start badmouthing another game, trying to get people to stop enjoying it.

There's nothing at all wrong with enjoying Destiny or Fortnight or sticking crayons up your nose but certain games attract certain demographics. Fortnight is the best game I'll never play because it took all the little kids away from everything else.

Some of u guys have been very helpful thank u, others have been very toxic and U know how it is with those typical warfram 1000 hrs fanboys they fail to see the flaws. I am a destiny 2 player I have over 5000 hrs on the franchise sure it has some issues but alot of it is positive. I wanted to try out warframe since I heard alot of good things about it and im starting to get very bored of this season in destiny 2, so I decided to instal and try warframe. I enjoyed it until the game kept shoving microtransactions down my throat. I DO NOT want to pay to speed things up like clash of clans time gated content. I just want to play like a normal person and not have to wait hours for a virtual timer to expire. I dont mind the grind but having to wait 8 hrs to progress with the main story unless I pay is insulting.

It's alright, I'm a founder and know that this game has it's flaws, especially in the new player area. Personally I think timers AND farming is just a bad combo in any game, it should be one or the other, never both. Nothing wrong with your choice of refusing to play it because of those mechanics, I can see how that is a big turn off for a new player.

But that's exactly the business model of the game, you notice as a new rather fast, everything takes a long time, unless you invest money, exactly the same principle as mobil games use, I mean I gave a warframe under construction today, that just takes 3 days, and before that the components of the frame itself, wait 4 days until you have a new warframe, time to get the blueprints and get the materials not even counted

You can only have fun in this game when grinding is fun or does not matter, and you have no problem with it that it takes VERY VERY long time

Yea unfortunally I guess this game really isnt for me. I just do not support their business model. I had fun for the 8 hrs I got to play up until I hit a road block that had me waiting 8 hrs to progress or pay up. Really sucks game had alot of potential for me. I dont mind farming I love farming I got 5000 hrs on destiny incuding bnet time, I just dont see myself waiting / timegated or pay up.

So burning tons of time and effort farming for drops is fine, but a set and forget 8 hour wait that allows you to do literally anything else during that time (other missions, other games, go to bed and come back tomorrow) is unacceptable?

I mean, to each their own I guess. More suspect is finding Warframe's pricing model unacceptable while claiming to have spent 5000h supporting a series known for its controversies involving lootboxes. I mean, hate microtransactions if you will, but practice what you preach.
