non-Eidolon Focus farm?
I know I will need shards from the Teralyst for unbinding some nodes, but what is the most efficient way to get Focus otherwise?

I already have a Lua Naramon Lens (and plan to get the other 4 in due time) but I don't know where I should put it.

Elite sanctuary onslaught with saryn prime and lua lens equipped on her is the best combo

As said above.

With Eidolon Lenses on Saryn and Ignis I can get 100k-150k focus in 8 waves of ESO without a booster, depending on luck.

efficiency wise, Eidolon hunting is still the best because you can exceed the daily cap.
Saryn in ESO is the second best way, but you will hit the cap quickly.

to oversimplify, with just the Teralyst you can get:
10 shards every night cycle. You wait one hour, do on full cycle and get other 10 shards, and so on until you have 40.
40 Shards give you 1 million focus. And you can get more if you play more, but let's keep it simple.

Saryn ESO... once you hit 300k (depending on your MR) you have to wait 24hrs before hitting 300k again and so one.
So just to hit 1 million you have to play 3 days and half.

3 days and half VS 4 hours

choose your destiny =)

You can always do both, especially since it isn't always nighttime on the plains. And as you already mentioned, you can go past the cap with eidolon hunting, so it doesn't matter if you hit the cap if you play ESO while waiting for night to hit the plains.

It also helps with burnout. Doing the same focus farm over and over can get pretty boring.

Stick 1 lens on whatever frame you usually use for your sorties. Stick 1 lens on a Trinity or Saryn for ESO farming. Stick 1 lens on a Volt for Eidelons, ESO, or Sorties. Stick 1 lens on Equinox for ESO, Sorties, and stealth bonus farming. Stick remaining lens on Ivara for Sorties, Stealth farming. Put basic lenses on all frames you use regularly. Even if you are only getting 2-3k focus from running random stuff, it adds up so you aren't having to do dedicated focus farming all the time.

Hold on... TEN Teralysts?

...the bounties being taken from the Plains? Does he respawn doing that?

Exit plains, then return. It will respawn afterwards.

Awww... I was hoping the bounty would respawn him without having to do that.

This thread answers a lot of questions for me. I couldn't get past the math (approx. 1k focus per week, running random stuff, and need around 350k to unlock stuff... so that works out to over 6 and a half years of playing)....

So I need to get an Eidolon (or Lua lens) by farming the Teralyst, then somehow the shards can be converted to focus?

Do I understand that correctly? Is solo Teralyst farming even possible?

Eidolon lens blueprint drops from hardest cetus bounties, Lua lens blueprint drops from disruptions on Lua. Solo teralyst farming is very much possible.
The thing is, teralysts, gantulysts and hydrolysts drop eidolon shards which can be exchanged for tons of focus, but in order to solo them reliably fast to outperform over 200k focus points from using saryn on ESO in ~20 minutes you need to dump a lot of focus points first

You can get eidolon lens blueprints from Cetus bounties. No need to actually fight the eidolons for them. The Lua lens blueprint is received as a random reward for the disruption node on Lua.

You get the shards by killing or capturing any of the eidolons. You can trade those in for focus points in the focus menu. The more eidolons to take down, the more shards you'll get. So most people tend to go for all three at least once per night cycle in either a private or public squad. You can just (solo) farm the Teralyst if you want, though. It's relatively easy to do.

Some people solo all three eidolons, but they're crazy. Way too much work for something you can do with a lot less hassle in a group.

Hey thanks for the clarification, you've made the game fun again for me, was starting to get discouraged... (you know like "geez, I'll never get that much focus...)

warframe has no end game (fashionframe), Being efficient isn't always fun. i usually do ESO with saryn and hit cap in roughly 30min and do other things for the rest of the day. Take it at your own pace
Yeah, I am intending to use Lua lenses to get more out of it (as well as any casual stuff) until I max out a tree (and any extra I get can go into pool) - and eventually replace the lens with another Lua lens to repeat the process.
